fast writing comes with experience (which i unfortunately do not have myself)
Any form of improv storytelling helps immensely, like being a DM for a D&D group or something of a similar vein. Roleplaying, or trying to improv jokes with friends.

Nothing is set in stone at all but Iâve been toying with the idea. The game would take place this summer, if it does happen, and would probably be split into several parts, lasting in total 2-3 weeks.
If a lot of people (4-5?) here like it, I might try and lock in to make the rules of the game, though help would indeed be welcome.
The premise is that the storm from the Dark sea rolled across the Bronze sea and people exposed to rain are being turned into atlanteans. Simultaneously, a monstrous atlantean (Martin), has appeared and is killing people who are alone at home. Contestants play the first part of the game in Rasna. Theyâll have to balance food, keep their shelter in a good condition against the disaster and survive the atlantean invasion as well as their neighbours. Throughout the game, conditions will worsen, making survival harder, and different twists will also be included.
@Amuka there are two polls
usually what i do is mind my own business/do something that requires relatively low brain power (eg biking) and then an idea pops into my head and i try to make it compatible with what i have currently planned
dont worry me too
if you think you write slow, challenge accepted
Explain more about the game. For now, it sounds like something I havenât played before, and have little understanding about
Oh god bluefighter has been typing for 27 minutes what have you done
for the 2nd poll i would have chosen a âmaybeâ option, essentially idk atm
Periods
The main game would consists of two main periods: raining, and calm.
The calm period is the one intended for players to socialize in, exchange weapons, food, supplies and money. Itâs also the ideal time to undertake activities such as shopping or gathering information.
During the raining period, leaving shelter is dangerous. This is meant to be the main source of corruption for players. Early on, it wonât be that big of a deal, but will become more dangerous later on. This is the ideal time to undertake activities such as robbery, testing for atlanteans or housekeeping activities.
NPCs and atlanteans
Through the game, to protect the players from Martin, as well as to allow them to gather resources, characters will come seek shelter at playersâ homes, and it is up to them to choose if they want to let them in or not. However, some of them are atlanteans, and may kill others in the household as time passes. News from the Bronze legion will reveal more signs the players should look for as time goes on.
However, atlanteans can also be created. If a player or character get too much corruption, which can come from exposure to the rain, consumption of irradiated food or possibly even atlantean presence, they can also turn into an atlantean. The playersâ objective here changes from survival to killing all survivors.
Drachma
Drachma is the main currency of the game and is used to purchase items like food, weapons, clothing or materials. Players will be given varying amounts of it at the start of the game, mostly not enough to survive all the way through. They can get more by trading with, extorting or robbing other players and characters, and possibly from selling things to merchants.
Weapons
Weapons are a luxury some players will be given at the start, but most will have to buy or find. They offer a way to reliably kill atlanteans, but also other people, allowing more likely survival for agressive gameplay.
Food
Food is a necessity due to energy. Each day depletes the playerâs energy, and running out will result in death. Different actions also cost aditional energy.
Players will start with varying amounts of various foods. Raw foods, like marulas, pork, tomatoes, wheat and fish, can be cooked into better meals that restore more energy. However, foods will rot over time, unless salted, to keep players from overstocking at the start, with meals taking twice as long to rot as raw foods theyâre made out of. Salt is an expensive yet only way to preserve foods completely.
Over time, due to the rain, raw food bought at the merchant will start getting corrupted, corrupting the characters who eat it.
Houses
Players will need to take care of their homes to survive. Over time, due to various causes, some rooms may get damaged and need repairs, or stay inside will corrupt the target slowly. Failing to maintain the house will cause it to be destroyed once all the rooms are damaged, only protecting from the rain half the usual amount.
Clothing
Adequate clothing may lessen the toxic rainâs corruption. All players will start with some clothes, but may find need for more as time goes on.
House actions
Players may do various actions while inside their homes that let them survive easier. These cost aditional energy and may cause an injury, but are quite useful. For example, you can observe your surroundings through your windows and keep track of nearby events, or repair your home, or cook, or talk with other inhabitants.
They can also share a house with other people, either by letting others into their house or being let into othersâ homes. This allows for more player interaction even during rain.
Martin
Martin the atlantean is a special threat. After a certain point, it will start visiting players in their houses, checking if theyâre alone. If they are, or say they are, it will kill them and burn down the house, destroying it.
Thatâs about it for the rough idea, details can be worked out later.
Hey, why does nobody say that when someone gives me a reason to yap? I want to hear this being said at me!
How long does each last? Are there any conditions of actions that trigger the switch?
Are there roles for the survivors? Or any player is able to perform all these actions? Do the NPCs share these abilities too?
Do we get to know, how high our corruption is? How can we clear it?
Huh?
I suppose the DM, you, will be controlling them. Do we have to ask you questions to determine whether or not this guy is an Atlantean, or we have more reliable detection abilities?
Does everybody in this game have a healthbar, or it is one hit - one kill? Do weapons break?
Wonât salting just dehydrate us to death?
Every player gets their own house, or we share one?
Are you responsible for loot distribution on the map?
But the action of coming to another house will expose you to the rain for a bit, right?
So, if there is only one guy, Martin kills them and destroys the house. If there is nobody home, then he just destroys the house. And if there are two, he just leaves? Or do we have to fight him off?
The in-game ratio would be something like 7 hours of rain/1 hour of clear and they just trigger after turns pass. Each hour would count like a turn probably.
I havenât yet planned out any roles but something could be made. But most actions can be done by everyone.
At certain milestones, players will get a message from moderator such as âyour vision is blurryâ, indicating how much more they have. Iâm not sure if I want it to be cleared yet, possibly only by staying sheltered for extended periods of time.
If your house lacks something, perhaps your greedy and stingy yet unfortunately unarmed neighbor has itâŚ
Like in NINAH, they can look for signs on them, both conventional, like mutations, and unconventional, like blood splatter on them. You only get to know the species after killing them, though some might carry incentive to be killed regardless of being a human, like if theyâre agressive or just stacked on money.
One hit - one kill, possibly with dice rolling for outcomes. I havenât planned for weapons to break, but it can be considered.
Your roof shingles are made of devourer arcanium that purifies the toxic rain into clean drinking water allowing you access to 20L of water every 7 hours. Shut.
Some will share, some will live alone. You can also change homes, if the owner of the new home lets you. Each house will also be loosely characterized with a layout and some descriptions.
By âfindâ, I mean either buy, get from a player or NPC, or steal.
If done during rain, yes. But if youâre desperate, might be your best shot.
Idk if itâd destroy the house if itâs empty, I think itâd be inhabited by NPCs anyways. If there are multiple people, it just leaves. Attacking it just angers and ends up with you dead. Might be given more twists as the game progresses.
A turn is one action done by every player?
Donât make robbery necessary to win, I do not want to steal from my comrades.
I donât know what No, Iâm Not A Human is. And, how can we look for signs? Do we get a picture of the newcomer or something?

But, with your rules, I suppose the invitation to suddenly appear in another personâs home isnât that necessary.
So they wonât just be lying on the ground?
Why? This thing can erase islands with a stomp, how are two plebs enough to ward it off?
Oh yeah I heard about these happens every month or something
How is this relevant rn?
Thatâs the idea, yes.
You can also loot corpses.
A game, look it up please, I donât want to explain. Every few days, Bronze legion will give out a new sign. The player can choose which area of the person theyâre testing they want to check, and get a brief description of what they see. You can test whenever.
Well, there is always the chance youâll get a couple bullets in your head if you do what you want.
Not the original idea but can be discussed.
Martin obeys the hive mind or something, but basically atlanteansâ main goal is to spread the atlantean infection. Casualties are an unintended result.
Iâm fine with that, as long as I am not the reason that corpse is there.
Will do.
I donât think blueâll make it necessary to win, itâll be useful sure and you can certainly win from just robbing/not robbing
Well since people will probably be killed regardless, there should be enough resources to scrape by
You canât guarantee others wonât be more desperate and less empathic than you, though
I watched some Markiplier, I think I have some brief understanding of the system now
