Arcane Abyss Sea, the Atlantean Infection AU

i feel like the ppl of the war seas would have a cool thematic name for the parasites tho

would suggest some but i am NOT cookin rn

maybe something like darkworms or mindeaters

Ngl those parasites reminded me of a horror analog that being the vita carnis

Imagine atlannteans with those similar abilities, war seas actually doomed

so you know carrion right

the skōlēx would be a neat name, sounds kinda cool and is the greek word for maggots and also the name of some massive fucking worm in greek mythos

Theyā€™re probably doing a lot better than the bronze sea thatā€™s for certain

sameria definitely has a far more competent military than ravenna
not to mention natural defenses in mount othrys and the forest of masts, which is what seems to be a jaws-like place

Nimbus is definitely doing a lot better
From what we know right now the significantly higher number of sky islands would help survivors a lot (+ that means potentially bigger skyships with weaponsā€¦ cannon rain)
Since the giant WoM-sized island is most likely Sameria, Sameria will probably be a lot better off than Ravenna. With more land to fall back on and a likely higher population to form an army from. Also with most likely more strategically valuable locations within the island itself

tldr Atlanteans in the Nimbus Sea are having a lot harder of a time

Getting this shitpost take out just in time for Valentineā€™s Day, introducingā€¦ the Dark Sea Dating Service.

Dark Sea Dating Service

When the Atlanteans first arrived in the Bronze Sea, panic quickly spread as islands fortified in case of attack. However, people soon noticed that the Atlanteans that arrived seemed to be non-hostile. In fact, they still retained their human minds. The Atlanteans that arrived explained that they didnā€™t come to the Bronze Sea to invade or to feast on the populace or anything like that. No, the reason that they arrived wasā€¦ to find love? Most people thought it was a trick, but when they found out that the Atlanteans were being genuine, they soon set up a program known as the Dark Sea Dating Service (DSDS)

The DSDS works by posting notice boards on all inhabited islands with lists of Atlanteans looking for partners. When a match is made, the human and the Atlantean agree to a date. If the date goes well, the pair will continue to meet until a relationship is formed. However, family visits between the two tend to be a little on the awkward side, especially if an Atlantean decides to bring their human partner to see their family in the Dark Sea.

When the Sirens arrived in the Bronze Sea, they also took notice of the DSDS and decided they wanted in on it, many of them signing themselves up for it. Only the more open-minded Sirens have been putting themselves out on the dating market though, as many of their kind, particularly the older generations, harbor some form of xenophobia against humans and Atlanteans. The DSDS has been successful in lowering this worldview, albiet by a small amount.

Thanks to the DSDS, tensions between humans, Atlanteans, and Sirens have gradually been slowing down. Atlantean ship raids on Dark Sea explorers are now less common and many Sirens have ceased using their songs to lure sailors to their dooms. While there hasnā€™t been any data on if the program will work in the other parts of the War Seas, it is believed that it will help to usher in a new era of peace.

Wait a moment-
This isnā€™t the abyss sea I know. Whereā€™s the death, body horror and sadness?

Now the question, who would romance Martin?

i would

So this one is considered main Abyss Sea topic? I watched a lot of side topics, and its really interesting. How can I create my own OC there?

shitty concept for a character in a story im making

Sir Caius Valerius, The Lion of Cassia

Caius joined the Bronze Legion on the same day as General Argos did, and the pair would become fast friends. fighting as a duo against pirates, hostile kingdom ships, and Winterveil remnants, their names would become feared by their foes, and hailed as heroes at home. the pair would quickly rise through the ranks of the Bronze Legion, reaching the rank of centurion in record paste. eventually, Argos and Caius were offered a promotion to general, though only Argos accepted it. Caius, on the other hand accepted the title of ā€œLion of Cassiaā€ and made a general only as a title, keeping the responsibility of a centurion.

he would shortly after be deployed at Cassia Town, where he would marry and raise a son whom he adored. shortly after his son rose to the rank of honorary general like his father, the Thorne Empire would begin their attack. during the battle of Cassia Town, whilst aiding General Veridia, his son would be decapitated and flung across the island by Avery Walker. meanwhile Argos and Caius fought off Thorne soldiers trying to intervene the duel between King Caesar and the Prince of Thorns. during this, Caius would lose an arm.

only finding out that his son had been killed during the fighting after the battle, and forced to leave what had now become Blasted Rock for medical treatment Caius would go into an inconsolable state. having lost his son, his left arm, his wife, and his home, he would spend the next few decades trying to find the remains of his family. during these decades, his relationship with Argos would sour and loyalty to Ravenna went into question.

when he eventually came back, he would befriend 4 young men who had reminded him of his relationship with Argos in his younger days. helping train them to the beat of his ability, he would begin to think of him as his sons. eventually, they would all be sent to Shell Island, much to the displeasure of one of them, Larcos, who had fallen love with a girl named Seia.

over the years at Shell, he would tell them all sorts of stories about him in his glory days. he also wrote a personal request for the first time in decades to Argos asking that if the captain at Shell was to die, then Larcos should take his place. he also would send numerous requests asking for replacement forces so that he could see his ā€œsonsā€ return home.

when the invasion started, he would often make jokes about sending the Atlanteans straight into the Dark Sea by himself and thatā€™d they be home by Carnevale. these jokes would end after they found the arm of Decius at entrance of the mines and heard screams echo from the bottom. Decimus, Deciusā€™s twin would follow after, being killed by an Atlantean during fighting in Monoah village.

having experienced the pain of having 2 of his ā€œsonsā€ die, Caius would begin having hallucinations of his original son regularly. shortly after these hallucinations began, Seraphinus, another one of his ā€œsonsā€, would be lit on fire by an Atlantean using a fire magic surge, and would be reduced to ashes whilst screaming in agony all throughout it.

after this, Caius would enter his paranoid state, becoming increasingly overprotective of Larcos. swearing to not let another one of his sons die so long as he lived, he would draft up plans on getting Larcos back home. he would secretly repair a sailboat that had run aground and refloated it. when the massacre of Camp Gladius began, Caius would give Larcos a gale potion and forced him to drink it, sending him flying out of camp, but also to safety. Caius screamed for Larcos to run to sailboat he repaired and find his girlfriend Seia, before turning to taunt Atlanteans, and hopefully buy as much time as he could for his last son.

the Lion of Cassia would turn into an Atlantean shortly after killing all of the beasts. he, like his best friend, would mutate into a lionfish-like beast. strangely, he slays any Atlantean foolish enough to step into Camp Gladius. though he is virtually mindless, one thought echoes through his head.

ā€œEven if this is my last stand, at least I will die protecting my son.ā€

I have some questions about this part.

  1. Throwable gale potions launch the target in opposite direction from their landing place. So, to launch Larcos to the safety, Caius would need to come from opposite direction, the most dangerous one.
  2. Brewing cauldrons can be found either at islands, Dark Sea, or brigsā€™ captain quarters. Visiting Dark Sea would generally be the worst idea, all islands are crowded with Atlanteans or generally have no cauldrons on them, and there is not many brigs left. So where these potions were brewed?
  3. Gale bursts require pinecones, obviously not hard to get, and amphibious bloom, as tier 3 would be enough, so no need to do the impossible and climb the stepstones for aeroplasts. Where these amphibious blooms from? I saw no card on Abyss Sea trello about diving spots or underwater structures, are they still the same as were in original universe? So no data about diving yet? I guess I can create it then, as first contribution to this topic
  1. Fair, Iā€™ll just make Caius force Larcos to drink a drinkable one instead
  2. These guys are on Shell Island, Caius probably just brewed them in one of the brewing pots around there.
  3. Found from a bag of reagents in the alchemist shop, Caius has decent knowledge of potions usable in combat and recognized them

These can only launch up. Larcos should know dodge reflexes to escape that way.

Shell Islandā€™s surface is covered in Atlanteans, there is no safe way to access them.

Agree, this is the way.
So, need I to cook diving points/underwater structures in Abyss Sea universe?

explaining all of these is going to give me a stroke, THIS SHIT OCCURS BEFORE/DUING CAMP GLADIUSā€™S FALL, THE ATLANTEANS ARE STILL FIGHTING TO LAND ON THE DAMNED ISLAND/JUST STARTED SWARMING IT, IT IS NOT FULLY COVERED YET. at least in my interpretation. Larcos was trained by Caius, an experienced veteran, along the way he wouldā€™ve learned reflexes.

also, itā€™s not like the interpretationā€™s arenā€™t set in stone, their still quite malleable

well, make your oc reasonably strong, describe how they would do in an Atlantean invasion at that strength and make an oc status/bio and send it in that one topic I forgot the name of

And how can I do this?

just write your interpretation on whatā€™s goinā€™ on with diving spots and underwater structures
