mechanics
stats:
- vitality) increases hp and slightly magic defence
- magic) increases magic damage
- str) increases melee damage (both weapons and FS)
- def) increases melee defence
- agi) increases avoid chance
- size) increases hit chance
- move) increases move distance
- intensity) increases various effects (maybe like luck?)
story
the story will follow tucker (AO’s player character dies instead in this game) as he slowly builds up an army to fight the order.
chapter 1
<cutscene>
start from estrid’s pov, looking over at dawn island (seeing tucker rowing over). have the redwake be attacked by the jaw pirates and show estrid hiding. she gets found but tucker comes in and kills the pirate. they agree to team up and take out the rest of the pirates.

<battle>
essentially go around redwake killing bandits, halfway through shura shows up due to the commotion and jorund (jaw pirate leader) flees. battle ends when the player defeats shura and recruits them.

potential recruits:
- tucker (auto-recruit at start, savant (skill doubles xp and has high growths))
- estrid (auto-recruit at start, healer (apples))
- shura (tutorial recruitment character & boss, anti-melee)
chapter 2
<cutscene>
all three of them recouperate at estrid’s inn. chief alfarin congratulates them but then deploys them to resolve a diplomatic incident at frostmill (they can’t spare warriors due to rebuilding and searching for jorund). the group meets up with hallfrid the scout start their ascent up the iceberg.

<battle>
the group fights their way through waves of bandits and (with a few ice smugglers appearing as a reinforcement, that tries to run away with goodies). battle ends after defeating iris and she flees.

- hallfrid (auto-recruit at start, fast melee attacker)
- ruby roger (recruitment, savant (high overall growths))
- clark silvers (recruits with ruby, savant (high overall growths))
chapter 3+

- iris (auto-recruit at chapter 3 start, magic glass cannon)
- neviro (auto-recruit at chapter 3 start, melee tank)
- arish vista (recruitment, defensive mage)

Some criticism here and there.
It doesn’t quite make any sense considering that Shura is a…hermit. He just wants to be left alone so I’m not sure why he’d go to Redwake (his spot’s pretty far tbh), much less actually throw hands with Tucker.
Just a nitpick, but Iris doesn’t flee.
I feel like we’re better off letting them simmer and see what they’ll do as the game goes on rather than recruit them right away. Ruby seems to be the kind of guy who wants to make his own crew and be his own captain. You could however make some side stories where you can recruit Edward Kenton and Enzior.
