Arcane Dye

What it does

The ability to change your magic colour variation should be available and I don’t see any reason not to add it. So, I propose 3 ways of doing this. All of them do the same thing but work differently.

  • Reagent
    – Yet another reagent that is going to be turned into a “Dye Party”
  • Food
    – This was a bit random but could work for reagents and food.
  • Inventory
    – Click it in your inventory and the UI comes up

And there are 2 other ways of actually changing the variation

  • Arcanium Dye
    – Instead of giving you a UI with all of the variants, you have to find Arc Dye, which you want. For example, “Purple Lightning Arc Dye”. This would reduce people making parties for overall variation changing and making the player find it.

  • Arcane Dye
    – Lets you pick out of all the variations, this feels lackluster and allows Variation parties to happen which makes the game unfun when you can buy your way to it.

Rarity

Now this all depends if it is Arcanium Dye or Arcane Dye. Arcanium Dye will have to be exotic or lower as you won’t always get the Dye you want. Arcane Dye will have to be Legendary or Exotic to increase the price and reduce parties (or the other way around). Also makes it worth it as you can pick any variation you want.

Cons

Some magics like water have a lot of variations meaning it will be harder for them to get Arcanium Dye. If anyone has a workaround for this please do tell me.

Parties will happen if Arcane Dye gets added and depending on the rarity if it is low or high, parties will be more common or less. I don’t have a grudge around paid parties for in-game content but it just makes the game feel different. You can just pay yourself to the epicenter by doing a lot of cargo. Cargo is not the same as the epicenter and it’s just adding ways to let people buy their way into content.

I think this is my first suggestion. I’m not sure, I worded a lot of this wrong and Grammarly Premium keeps coming up so I’m guessing it sounds weird??

Please give feedback! ( Also anyone got a better word than Dye? )

honestly this is pointless

Sure, but I don’t see why there can’t be a way to change varations. I vote

also the way you worded it did not sound wierd

Please explain

Thanks

your first magic is a permanent choice that you have to think hard on, that includes its color variation.
even after countless suggestions of ways to change your first magic and its color variation, he still doesn’t know if he wants to do so or not.

We are going to be able to change magic like FS in the future, he said so in the QnA

he confirmed we will lol, he even said “i might implement magic change if the doc this update is short” bro trying to presure the balancers

fr, honestly balance team CANNOT balance stuff, they either massive nerf or massive buff. We only get a few good balancing updates

This was the plan originally, but I think vetex has realized alongside pretty much everyone else that forcing the player to stick to the magic they chose at first without having to completely erase the file and restart everything from scratch is pretty dumb in a game where you can grind for hundreds of hours.

pointless when there’ll be a way to reset your magic entirely anyway, and adding a new item for a sub sub category of players (those who have magic in the first place, and said magic happens to be one of the 13 with color variants) all that just for vanity is odd

im not trying to kick this suggestion when its already down but im just saying it wont make reseting your magic (or its color variant) come out faster

I just realised that its just a placeholder until we get swapping out magics

you cant just consume magical drugs and expect them to change the color of your magic circle :sob:

they can actually, it’s just that vetex keeps vetoing, denying or messing up all the changes

Honestly i dont get it.
Lorewise it makes sense to make the magic choice important, but from a gameplay perspective being able to change later gives you so much more room for customization.

Some magica feel arguably worse than others before awakening, so having this option would mean that post awakening you would be able to chose the magic you want without feeling underpowered in the early game…

It could be cheaper than reseting your magic, which would make sense from a game design perspective.

Also, it would open the discussion for variants of magics that lack them like fire

we already know new variants wont be added from the qna

I know, but we also knew that weapon skills woudnt be customizable and now we have weapon notes.

If vetex suddenly changes his mind we could have. And an item that allows you to change your magic variant might just spark that
