Issue is, you need to play on hard mode (or whatever itâs called) legendary mode to get anything relatively rewarding from boss battles.
If I wanted to do that I could just play terraria, which is like 10x more fun

the rng is the absolute worst part of this game
mostly random enemy dodges, which is just stupid game design
and enemy crits, forgot about enemy crits.
While This game used to want to copy edgy mechanics from Rogue Lineage, it has never played similar to that game and this update is only going to further that. This is especially true with the new dev team thatâs been focusing A LOT on improving the game based on feedback.
A few of the key differences

Rogue lineage has progression based on killing other people, this game doesnât have PvP at all except for a fully optional non-lethal duel system with no incentives that only exists for fun

Exclusively PvE permadeath is completely different from PvP permadeath, as you usually lose your slot to your own mistakes rather than a metamancer sweat.

Old dev just copied the âlittle to no handholdingâ in the desc as an excuse for not explaining anything, however the new devs have added a tutorial.

this game used to mimick the same distrust-based âtrading systemâ where you drop your items on the floor and hope the other guy doesnât scam you, but itâs been completely replaced with an actual trading menu similar to AO. (it didnât even fit because the whole point in rogue lineage was that youâre supposed to kill the other guy if he tries to steal your stuff but you could never do that in this game)

Iâve heard that Rogue Lineageâs community is really toxic, however I have never had a single toxic player interaction in this game.

The degree to which the new dev team actually listens their community is genuinely impressive, almost every complaint I had about the old game has been addressed to some degree.

Time investment on slots has been cut back a ton, which makes more sense for a permadeath game.
i remember when i first tried it out i pressed E on something and it crashed my entire game, i hope i can revisit it and learn how to play
idk i liked the concept of the game but a lot held it back for me
- just get rid of permadeath on normal difficulty. does more negative for the game than positive. you could keep it as a legendary-exclusive thing, but it just means that learning the game is harder for no reason and i gotta pull up the (very outdated) wiki before venturing anywhere
- balance changes to not make âmeta-of-the-weekâ builds and just. have them be fun and good.
- gonna sound weird but allow us to find npcs to hire as additional party members or AT LEAST ALLOW US TO PASSIVELY SAY WEâRE LOOKING FOR A TEAM. i get that the game is balanced and design around team play but not being able to readily get a team SUCKS, especially when certain enchants require other people.

Turn based RPG mechanics and permadeath are like oil and water. Combat mechanics that are built around trial and error, yet actively punishes you for trying to get the hang of things
