How do you even make textures that actually work on the mesh? I tried so many times yet it would just be grey or whatever color the mesh has

So you have to use the texture ID property of the mesh part to set the textures
Select your mesh like so:
Then replace it with @Kreig200 's texture ID for example and tada! Now it will use the texture you set for that mesh

After you install btr or ropro go to the item you want the texture for and click this at the top right.
Then click on the TextureId link.
