I dunno if this is a hot take but I think that arriving at Cirrus Island for the first time is the best moment in the game’s story
Bro that take is frozen
While not the best in my opinion it is definitely very high up there, the entire first stepstones climb and the moment that you finally reach the top is amazing.
Maybe when she does damage
The pvp is horrible
Balancing a game like this is just such a horribly hard task, and the balance team doesn’t always do their job right. I had a longer rant about the balance team before on a recent topic, you can go check it out if you want
there is just too many mechanics that will be able to make this game balanced. And the worst part is the minmaxxing. There’s just so much to grind for that it’s not even fun anymore
… those are the coldest takes known to man
Who tf thought calling this update “the small update” was a good idea
what, you want it to be called the modifier/darksea/deckhand update?
dark sea pt. 2 would work
or they could just call it 1.14
Yes
Preferably deckhand
First update was known as Underwater update since it was the most prominent change
Deckhand is prob the biggest change this time around
Dark Sea Mini-update would work ig
that wasn’t what i meant, i meant moreso if they wanted the update to actually just be called all three things
cuz imo all three are pretty big in of itself. dark sea a bit lesser. but still, it’s a mini update and nothing crazy.
Post this screenshot in a pvp focused clan server see what they think of it
if you want a spicier take, then I’ll give you my hottest of all
Halloween seasonals have no value, and are worth even less than boss drops
Let’s be honest here, halloween seasonals are purely collectible cosmetics. If you’re not into that sort of stuff, then it’s not really going to have any worthwhile value.
It’s like shinies vs hidden abilites in pokemon. Some hidden abilities are pretty beneficial, whereas shinies are purely cosmetic.
I meant as in market value

there are games with far more complicated systems that are more balanced than AO. The problem isn’t the volume of things to balance, it’s the fact that the balance team doesn’t have consistent balance philosophy yet. The game is still early access and they still have time to figure out what exactly should be strong, but it takes time to create a stance on a healthy meta.
i’m relatively fine with the balance right now cuz it’s early access right now (tho i forgor when it’s supposedly gonna be “released”)
I kinda like the minmaxing aspect of the game. The problem I have is how unclear how much percentage does the the secondary stats give. For example, ArceyPlayz video shows that attack speed only come to great effect if you have more than 100 points. Same with agility, it is stronger before the 50 points mark.
All of these value were tested on a level 125 file so we dont know if this scale with level or not because a new player may have 34 attack speed at lv 50 not realizing it does change anything much.
Solution: I think this is probs easy to implement, have a secondary window next to the stats window display the percentage the stats give like +40% casting speed, +40% projectile speed when you have 120 attack speed or smth.
Teaming is pretty scummy yes but that can be manageable through other means
also banning people for “metamancing” has to probably be single handedly the worst and arguably hottest take on this entire thread LOL
