Arcane odyssey is over?

Some of the things that he refused to change actually got changed in some way i believe

Only one I can think of is the new energy system and even then it wasn’t fully reversed.

100% there is more, maybe dark sea randomly generated island got size reduction

oh yeah

that’s still on the way though cause vetex likes to release a whole bunch of things at once instead of actually releasing some of the other side things gradually

hey you know i feel pretty disappointed and sorry for vetex because of how community treated him and has to deal with the drama

As much of an asshole we are to him, he is also an asshole to us

you know this is why i am no longer in vetcord now

But does this gave us an excuse to act like an asshole too?

I mean I’ve seen Vetex be a bit of an asshole but (part of) the community (especially Vetcord) is so much worse. There’s a reason he’s pretty much entirely cut off from them outside of patreon chat.

yea that why i left vetcord entirely

WoW, Albion Online, Skyrim and other game in this section

WoW, Albion Online, Skyrim and other game in this section. I can play them around 2k hours without updates

Are your expectations that high for a Roblox game with one actual developer? Personally, my own expectations were surpassed.

That’s exactly the problem. Vetex lacks the necessary skills, and for some personal reason of his own, he refuses to assemble a proper team for such a massive project.

From what I know, the game is more of a passion project at its core than anything, so he keeps the team small to preserve his own creative integrity. Vetex isn’t a game development company, he just does what he wants to make the game as he wants it.

Unfortunately, given his ambitions, a decision like this is merely killing AO a slow death.

What slow death? Seemingly, the game has dipped down into the half-thousand-ish numbers like it usually does during content droughts and has for years.

Between updates, prior to the release, it hovered around 1,000–1,200 players.

Prior to full release?

I think that could have something to do with more frequent content updates prior to Full Release and the fact that we are currently in a pretty large drought. The last actual content update was Full Release iirc, considering how small the Dragon Update was. I believe the lower player count could be attributed to the very long lack of content rather than accumulated poor decisions, which is a complaint I rarely actually have ever heard in-game.

Now, if the dev time spent kept dwindling, and, therefore, so did the player count, then yes, the game would actually be dying. As of recently, it seems vetex is taking some time off or doing something different for a while, but hopefully he’ll get back to it at some point.
