yeah, since the ships are already unrealistic might aswell give them different names because its just ridicolous
And the next thing you know, weâre referring to spears as swords, warhammers as axes, and halberds as mutant weapons.
It isnât because itâs a Roblox game that itâs fine to make mistakes, itâs fine to make mistakes because your audience wonât notice them (this applies to game design too). Now, the mistake has been noticed, so what do we do?
Insulting the original poster for pointing it out and shutting down dialogue without a detailed enough argument is not what we should do, thatâs for sure.
too big? it looks tiny in game, most of our ships i think are probably smaller than their real life counterparts
its actually huge
also this is one of the biggest ever brigs (its not even a brig, its a snow-brig) and the AO brig would still dwarf this
oh wait youâre right that the caravel in game isnât that small actually, i hadnât seen it in a while so i was wrong
comparing the person to boat scale of the two though they donât really seem too far off from each other
Okay, but could you imagine trying to FIGHT on a small ship with AOâs mobility-based combat? It would turn into a straight up DPS race. A race you, the player, would lose a lot more often because enemies tend to attack in groups, and your crew is useless.
I think this is an interesting discussion and learning about how ships in the real world are is cool, but I donât see how this is an actual issue ingame in any meaningful way.
If anything, making them small would ruin sea based activities.
like Iâd agree with gamehero if it wasnât for the fact that naval combat already is a DPS race despite how supposedly massive our ships are.
Has bro never heard of the resilience stat?
well we already have the combat log that if u leave the game u lose something, and so wheres the problem in having a ship combat log that when you engage in ship warfare with another player u cant leave ur ship (just like irl, a captain cant leave his ship)
ok I get what youâre suggesting but what does that have to do with combat logging???
also itâd be very annoying to be locked down to your ship whenever youâre attacked.
ships arent as fast as they are in AO, theyre much MUCH slower, if AO had slightly more realistic ships, what you said wouldnt be a problem
Wouldnt it be kinda detrimental to the games combat unless severe nerfs were made to ships 'n builds
Since back then ships pretty much instant killed with cannons and some ships are equal to having a meta-build. (If you are using an amplified build with a speedy ram, consider yer ship-battles a win)
(And mortars/base AI cannons are more likely, if not gauranteed to hit you if speed was nerfed, meaning most of these fights would really just be DPS checks and who has the better ship which I can see that being âirlâ but in terms of a game? Probably not too fun)
can be worked on tbh, has to meet some requirements
Mortars arenât soppused to hit ships big man, theyâre called siege weapons for a reason
Its a game with fire tornados and glass rain, what makes you think the wind is the same?
did you fr join the forums just to complain about historical accuracy in a fantasy game
