It was the shady guy from Caitara that Caiden Zero saw
“Murder? Not a big fan of that, id like to avoid killers.”
i do. i check the weapon for prints
(forensics is not a recent science)
A pale merchant-looking woman approached the scene of the crime, opening the door to the multiple people who were also investigating the crime.
“It seems that I’m not the only person here who noticed the commotion outside.”
(the alive mr burnette btw)
Well… many! I don’t think that’d narrow it down.
yeah good luck finding the man
Same!
There’s fingerprints on it. Well done you, you really have this puzzle solving business down to a T. Now perhaps there’s some more game-able evidence about the crime scene.
(the twenty + people just like you who came to check on the scene)
The next thing i do is this:
“so how is he stabbed in the back but sitting at his desk?”
I take the playing card from his corpse and pocket it
is there blood all over the room or just on his clothes
“Heyyy there mister just what did you remove from the scene of the crime?”
bad posture
It’s still impaled by the dagger, and Mr Burnette doesn’t want you to take it.
Just his clothes, the dagger, his desk, and the chair. Doesn’t appear to have been a struggle.
I take note of some guy stealing evidence
that doesn’t sound plausible.
“are we certain he was murdered in this room?”
“Its miss to you, and all i grabbed was a card off his corpse, not like that could have any relevance to the crime and im missing a couple from my deck.”
No! That’s why he’s hired private investigators.
Booooooo lemme eat more playing cards
I ask the servant how they met the merchant
i go and peer about to see if there’s any blood on the floor by the doors or windows or anything. Both in this room and nearby areas.
‘Oh well. You know. Employment.’
The woman moved through the group of people to check the body of the late Damien Burnette.
“Mr. Burnette, hmm? A shame, he seemed like he would’ve made a nice trade partner.”
After studying the body more, the woman began looking around the room for anything else that could’ve been useful. Potential escape routes, anything that could’ve been collapsed in a retreat, anything else that could give any hints of a runner’s path.
