Arcane Odyssey: Valour of Treachery [Main Thread -- Game]

There’s a trail of blood leading to a window.

Burnette… not uh the hair colour.

:wilted_flower:

I look out the window (im so smart guys)

i hop out the window

Just messing about! i go outside and around to where the window leads.

“Did Mr Burnette treat you well here?”

you see the streets of caitara

it leads out onto a small alleyway that leads nowhere.

‘I mean he was a bit cryptic with his trading organisation, but he loved his poetry and was an alright boss. He and his brother paid me well.’

Whats this random servant guys opinion on like 6 random idiots with 0 credentials appearing to investigate a murder for no reason

Seeing as two… well, “investigators” had decided to already follow the broken window, the woman let out a huff before she decided to go check with the people who worked close with Mr. Burnette.

Randomness who are my options to speak with.

how high off the ground is the window? (i assume that this is all for nothing and we’re meant to find the poem to see who murdered them)

Also did anyone get mad at my remark I do need to introduce my character somehow and I think apologizing for such would be a good start

“Speaking of the brother, how was their relationship”

Edit: did not mean to quote that

(Guh?)

I forgot to unquote it mb

let’s say that i’ve returned and saw this poem. Having Totally Been Aware Of the poem (google) i decide to peer at the two pieces of paper.

  • Mari Oryx. The servant.
  • Mr Burnette, The Brother.
  • Any of the investigators.

Exactly you have this puzzle solving business AND the murder investigation business down to the T and I cannot stress how much more fun doing this whole murder mystery bit is than I had planned.

‘They were close… although I think Mr Burnette is completely oblivious to Mr Burnette’s trading job. He has no clue that it isn’t… you know, actual trade. Black market stuff. That sort’

yeah so

  • There’s a playing card. How odd, you seem to remember carrying something like this.
  • There’s a poem. You know Mr Burnette liked poetry, according to another investigator.

oh those are the papers.

i question the brother with “do you happen to have met someone called Ozymandias?”

‘Ozywhowhatnowness? That sounds like a literature thing. I don’t read as much as my brother… did.’

Huh. Ozymandias eh… perhaps you want to read up the rules on how to submit a puzzle response specifically…

I decide to go speak with Mari Onyx, though they do seem a bit busy.

“Pardon me, if you aren’t too busy, but what time did this happen? Was anyone seen or known to be with Mr. Burnette here at that time?”

‘oh… He had all sorts of meetings with clients throughout the last evening
. I don’t keep records. Neither did he, never was one for nice simple organisation. You should check out his library if you want to know what I mean, it’s a mess in there.’

-I arrive to the scene late.

“Huh? What’s this?”
