Arcane Odyssey, World of Magic, or Arcane Adventures? Which one was your favorite?

Personally my favorite out of the three was Arcane Adventures and that’s with a lot of bias it being the first game I played of what you could call this “Trilogy” of games. Although I’m steering more towards Arcane Odyssey because of the story and the reason why I loved Arcane Adventures so much was because of the story it’s sort of switching my mind. My only main problem with Arcane Odyssey is the leveling gaps in between storylines. I didn’t mind the grinding since it allowed me to explore the vast open world of the game, but having to repeat the same quest over and over again was bothering after awhile. I still love the game though and I’m excited for future updates, but hopefully the level requirements for the story will be worked on better in the future. (WoM I didn’t like because it didn’t have the story, but when it came out with the customizable magic it was mind blowing.)

I never played Arcane Adventures although I was around since the halloween event of WoM. I used to play it very frequently too. It’s even in my bio: “WoM enthusiast”

But Arcane Odyessy is already so much better in every way possible, even though it’s still buggy and some things need tweaking. There’s really no debate.

I still wonder what World of Magic would’ve been like if it was continued.

Arcane Adventures may have been less developed, but it was a much more enjoyable in some areas.

You had a lot more people banding together in-game in order to beat difficult bosses, for one. Lots of players socializing, helping eachother out with the theos fight and stuff.

It was pretty fun to just get on a ship with some randoms and go fight Kraken, or to even go and hunt for white eyes. There was a much greater sense of faction unity and clan honor/pride in AA, you had clan wars happening all the time. Clans and groups in AO are kind of just… there, I guess.

AO is still the better game, but AA beats it out still in a few aspects. Once updates to clans/war sea organizations and dark sea updates come out, AO will be better in every conceivable way.

ao, it has a lot more cool stuff planned with better features and higher quality

AO > AA > WoM

I couldn’t play Arcane Adventures as i were playing other games, I haven’t even seen AA or I just ignored it because i were more dumb before.

World of Magic - is probably one of the games that could be better than AA but not as good as AO, because WoM is about one large island with tons of things it could just lag and cause tons of issues (even with scripts that will help), It could be pretty interesting game if someone would continue creating it but, 2 different storylines is just would be hard for vetex to create.
(basically WoM had some kind of potential)

Arcane Odyssey - it’s just better than both AA and WoM, and more content AO will get more it will get better. Btw I Haven’t been on Mimhere island but at least i know it’s location, gonna
try and get on that island.

If you ever want to see what Arcane Adventures was about you should really check out Arcane Reborn. I’m not promoting the game, but it’s basically an updated version of Arcane Adventures with the nostalgia effect.

i played it, AR is just bad
i seen Youtuber playing AA (i watched over 5 videos + watched egg hunt AA video with void egg), so
AA is better than AR anyways even tho i haven’t played AA

AA (I am heavily blinded by nostalgia)

The storyline was definitely something unique, two different storylines depending on your reputation after a certain level to allow the player to explore first and get the hang of the game is really cool. As much as AA and AO story is cool, WOM story with it’s double path is something I love.

AA > current AO (not enough content to beat aa yet imo, will change after nimbus release probably) >>> WOM

I can see reason behind not wanting to stick to the main storyline, you have no option to be a villain and you’re forced to side with certain people. It would be cool if depending on what your reputation was and (more) storyline options you could branch out and reach a different ending. (like how you could kill/spare lord elius)

Oh also @ThatOneGuy

currently, AA

but once AO gets equal content that shits getting blasted out the park by AO

Also just one of my speculations. I’m pretty sure AA & AO take place at the same time. So the end of AA takes place at the start of AO. So I feel like there is a small chance that some characters that we’ve seen from the past game will pop up (probably). Lowkey Warren / Ren is giving me like Theos’s son vibe.

AO takes place one month after durza dies, but they’re across the planet from one another, so unless averill has the world’s fastest ship (or just flies the entire distance through the hell that is the dark sea) we’re not seeing anyone from AA in AO outside of a few npc references and myriad book titles

WORLD OF MAGIC
Was never able to play AA (got my roblox account in june of 2017, didn’t hear about AA until much later), so WoM’s fourth public test (joined it with a friend who played AA and another that didn’t) was my introduction to the series. I was pretty hyped for the release in summer 2020, and me and my friends played it a bit. Eventually, Vetex announced that he wanted to make AO, so my friends lost interest due to it… honestly, having basically nothing to do other than run around, kill bandits, wizards, Exiled, Minotaur, and the Magic Council (who were pretty damn hard to actually fight back against). I stopped playing at around November 2020, but a lot later after that, me and that same group of friends decided to play Arcane Reborn.

ARCANE REBORN, NOT THE SAME GAME AS AA BUT CLOSE ENOUGH
I found it pretty fun, loved the dash there (which made me have a disdain for WoM combat, the leap spell and high jumps were basically the only way to dodge) I went into the ungodly grind that I tend to go into for most games, but my AA friend actually didn’t want to play after too long. Even later on, I tried to play AR again, and realized that some of the quests that they decide to put in there themselves kind of sucked. (Why do I have to find five crystal things instead of just fight Sage?) That, and whenever an AO feature was announced, it magically showed up in AR not long after. When I told my AA friend about this, told me that playing AR made him realize that AA might not have actually been THAT good, and that he probably liked it more because he was a LOT younger and because it was probably just the best thing on Roblox at the time.
And then there’s AO. Holy shit, I love this game.

ARCANE ODYSSEY
It’s like WoM, but now you can actually USE the synergies that were listed on the Trello for years! Let’s fucking GO! Two new classes, because why the hell not, and there is SO much more
VICTIMS stuff to KILL do. Bounty hunting makes it so that I don’t feel anywhere near as bad when I try to attack someone, too, so that’s great. Fishing still sucks dick, though.

IN CONCLUSION
You could call WoM a bandit beater and get away with it. I liked it, but that didn’t change the fact that there was basically nothing to do aside from what you’ve already done by the time you reach level 90. This one’s my least favorite out of the bunch. Also, looking at the abandoned WoM place and seeing the cool art removed from the images and being replaced with images of the map makes it feel kind of soulless.
AA is probably better than AR in a bunch of things, but it’s still the main foundation for AR, the thing I played, so it’s still definitely not the best. Some real bosses and a storyline though, fighting Theos was pretty damn cool, but I’ll shoot myself if I have to kill 100-200 of the same enemy in AO. This one’s in the middle, but still pretty meh.
AO is better than both of them. The bosses feel more fair than AO’s (for now, hopefully that doesn’t change), and there’s a lot more shit to do than there is in WoM. Best one out of the bunch.

So yeah definitely some old characters are going to appear. It would be missing a good opportunity. Maybe even we’ll find like the old blade that Theos gave us at the start of AA.

no old characters will be appearing unless averill flies over, and even then that’s only averill

and I feel like the peacekeeper would never misplace their dagger

I like both Arcane Adventures and Arcane Odyssey a lot. There are some things one game did better than the other, and they did both have some problems with storyline quests. Arcane Odyssey’s level gaps between story quests are annoying, but we can’t really leave out the damn oblitesco gunslinger quest and the leveling gap to spawn at the borealis
