how did this take ages its quite a short topic
i made it on a phone
smh Its easy to type on mobile
This is a joke, right? You are joking here?
only npcs that feel stupid are the pvp champ ai tryhards (amon and such)
otherwise most of the npc fights are fair and you can properly tell what they are doing and how to counter it
you roll a legendary chart and then have a 90% chance of dying afterwards when the entire server/game comes after you to obliterate you lmao
ar is fine but i just cant enjoy it due to how needlessly grindy it is, if this were a few years ago i would argue that it wasnt much better in aa, but even the new content is just as grindy and annoying
its really weird, the devs are clearly willing to change the game drastically but wont change any of the design flaws and mistakes from aa
bosses also range from extremely easy to unnecessarily annoying and unfun, the devs seem to expect you to be overleveled the entire game (im assuming due to lack of balance testing and instead just use whatever maxed out setup they have in their test place)
i think if the ar devs put a bit more effort into improving the experience of the average player that doesnt have the time or attention span to grind for hours then it could be great, even better than the original arcane adventures
this.
I like the basis of the game, but the PvP and PvE is janky.
one thing i forgot to mention is the level system, another flaw of aa that the devs refuse to fix, i find this one more reasonable as it is a core mechanic from the original game, so changing it would make a big difference
i think this system wouldnt be too bad if the xp gain was just a little bit more reasonable, at later levels trying to get xp by actually using your magic becomes incredibly inneficient compared to setting up a macro to spam magic bow and leaving your computer on for a few hours
im being incredibly critical in ar in this post so i will give it a little bit of praise, first of all the new story isnt bad, the new meshes and ui are pretty nice, and the revamp in general is genuinely well made
it just seems like the devs are looking at aa with a pvper mindset as opposed to a general player mindset, which isnt a bad thing necessarily it just doesnt really work for aa where pvp was always a side feature
yeah, the grinding compounds with the jank and general unpolished feel and just makes me wanna stop.
yeah that’s the thing, it really feels like the boss ai was made ignoring the actual player characters capabilities. they’d be great bosses (with a few modifications) if the system was just slightly less stand stilly as bosses entirely lack the dodge and punish nature that makes fights feel structured. they’re all just dodge and dodge attempt to find the smallest opening or try to dps them with your ults.
Not compare to a computer but maybe you’re used to type on a xbox or something
