i can understand the new ui being a bit clunky but saying “its too much like ao” is like saying “its too much like an actual game”

For some odd reason, farming specific bosses like Nestor or Prometheus with other players would make the chances of obtaining their drops higher since the chance rolls for every player. This means if you brought in four players (including yourself) into a dungeon like stormwall and killed Prometheus, the chance of the entire server obtaining an item is a 4/100 (1/25) chance. (This is because these are shared drops so if one person obtains it, the whole server obtains it.)

You suffering grinding alone unless you have friends or managed to join a dungeon run

You play that game if you’re nostalgic about AA or want to see how it was if you hadnt played it. If I wanted beter AA i can just play AO

reborn does have enough to stand on its own as a completely separate thing from odyssey, it just so happens that every mechanic is caked with the worst user experience possible

Except AA never had anything past Alalea. Both Pyramid and Stormwall dungeons are original content. They had every right to make it into decent content, as whatever they made, it’d still not fit with AA.

well yeah but it gets to a point. i feel like there’s enough different in aa that you could keep (like a limited selection of magics for the tradeoff of them all getting unique moves) to the point where you could make better game design decisions and still not end up as ao 2

it CAN be good but sadly us arcane fans get nothing

Honestly, AR did one thing right compared to old AA, and that’s making the First Sea not balanced based on what would be “funniest” (most infuriating for that point). Ramses II was actually more than possible to beat in AR compared to literally every other AA remake, purely because AR has his fight be its own server and doesn’t let him blow you out of his arena with the dust devil he seemingly always starts fights with in every other AA remake.

Everything else in the Second Sea onward dropped the ball hard.

i stopped playing after a bunch of clan kiddies continuously kicked my ass with legendary weapons until their leader told them to stop because it was a waste of time

legendary charts and weapons are possibly the worst feature ever added to a roblox game

overpowered, extremely valuable weapons that are mandatory for pvp and also allowed to be stolen by a bunch of pvp rats who also probably have them

thats not even to mention the drop rates for “normal” stuff which are so fucking abysmal that you’d have better luck in a rigged casino

it’s difficult to describe the community properly without using slurs that would get me banned

Real talk though, this + drop chances make the game grind HORRID. I used to farm Rupin for their gear, it’s a 1/125 chance (0.8%) that gives you 1 pity per kill. So that’s 1/125 to 1/124… and so on until 1/25.

Hot take: RNG-based grinding is outdated game design, and all grinding in games should henceforth be skill-based.

i’d love to see it ingame, would make farming less of a chore, it wouldnt work too well in AR since all the bosses are overtuned to shit but still

What if bosses dropped these tokens that you could use to buy boss drops, and bosses drop more tokens the harder they are, and the cost of boss drops would increase with harder bosses, but you cannot view nor buy boss drops from bosses you haven’t encountered yet.

This could be incorporated into your idea as well and beating bosses that are below your level will drop less tokens, so you’re incentivised to fight bosses at your level, but you could make said bosses harder to get the normal amount of tokens.

This is a hot take?

Everybody knows that RNG progression only exists as a way to easily keep players in the game longer, not to make the game better lol.

eh, i like gamehero’s idea better

arcane reborn was only the game we played because ao wasnt out, and i only play it now if i want to feel nostalgia or revisit the seven seas which is imo a better map design with better lore too
