The current implementation of arcanium weapons is quite lacking due to how uncustomizable the spells are. I’m proposing two solutions that will make it so arcanium weapons will actually get used instead of just cluttering the inventory.
Solution #1: Spell scrolls
Now you can remove the random spells from arcanium weapons/any basic spell, which will turn it into a common spell scroll. The spell scroll has all of the spells properties and customization of the original spell, like its name. Common spell scrolls can be put on arcanium weapons just like skill notes. When clicking on a spell on an arcanium weapon, you now get 3 options:
Swap — allows you to move the spell to a different slot.
Edit — allows you to customize the spell like in the magic menu.
Remove — transforms the spell into a scroll and removes it from the weapon.
This solution allows you to customize and move straight from your weapons, but it’s much more menu-driven than solution #2.
Solution #2: Spell Copying
Like in solution #1, spells can now be removed from arcanium weapons; they will not leave a spell scroll, however, and will simply disappear instead. When putting a skill on arcanium weapons, alongside all the skill notes, there is now also an option for each of your magics; choosing one allows you to select any spell from that magic, which will copy the spell and all its customization to the weapon, like the spells name, size, etc.
This solution makes equipping the spells faster than solution #1 but requires that you either have an empty spell slot specifically to put spells on arcanium weapons; otherwise, you’d only be able to put the spells you’re currently using on the weapon.
I believe either of these changes would make arcanium weapons leagues better than the way they are currently implemented, as currently there’s no real reason to use them as a conjurer, and that just seems like a waste to me.
