mainly pointing my finger at calvus with this post, ffs this guy is a savant with aether and apocalypse bringer curse inheritance. main problem being we only see his curse inheritance get used ONCE which is in his second phase when he is done using his signature move (500! 500! 500!) it is very dissapointing we can only see it being used ONCE so we dont actually know how strong it is. my claim saying that curse inheritances can be as strong as regular curses is that apocalypse bringer curse LITERALLY FUCKING WIPED AN ISLAND OFF OF THE SEA. this is an insane feat and as we know with magic the stronger the use is the stronger the magic is, so it can be assumed that if calvus was stronger he could possibly be on par with a weaker curse (something like shadow.) moving on, since we can beat calvus and not julian we could only assume that curse inheratinces are just like having a negative tier 1 magic in your back pocket IF the user is weak. (calvus is confirmed to be the WEAKEST highlord with maybe some barons being stronger than him)
WHY THE FUCK. DOES CALVUS NOT HAVE A CURSE.
think about it, two known ravenna generals have curses Julian and Zaix (dead), i have two theories as of to why he doesnt have a curse is because big papa octavious never saved one for his child and instead gave it to zaix. my second theory which is more unlikely is because calvus actually has a seceret ego and thinks that apocalypse bringer curse is one of the strongest thus making it be on par with a regular curse when it is an inheritance.
all i can or really want to type rn if you got other rants or theories about curse inheritances just drop them here also there might be spelling or grammar errors since i added on some random shgit as i was going.
I feel like Curse inheritance is equal to any other skill.
You’d have Strength, Vitality, Magic, Weapons, and Curses.
You’d be able to train your ability to manipulate it as you please, and eventually make it just as good as a curse.
incorrect, in his second phase, it appears that he, for lack of better words, imbues his aether magic with his curse inheritance as his primary way of utilizing it.
otherwise his magic turning green and getting some black/blue effects here and there despite being aether wouldn’t particularly make sense lol.
actually his entire second phase uses it, that’s why his aether magic turns green, it’s the yellow + blue
it is true that any magic user could be as strong as a curse user with enough training, but curses are, at base, stronger than magic and really everything, including inherited curses
calvus only came to power relatively recently, and ravenna only just recently gained another curse, the cloud curse. the reason he didn’t take the cloud curse is because he was expecting the death curse to have been found soon, and so was waiting for that one
it’s possible zaix had been serving ravenna before calvus was born or even before octavious’s rule, since curse users are immortal. the same is most likely true with julian as well
The only reason why Calvus is so weak with his inheritance is because he barely trained it, and admitted himself that was it less than a fraction of Nero’s power.
If Morden didn’t interfere, he would’ve gotten the Death Curse. That was the entire point.
It doesn’t matter how strong your base ability is, if you don’t train it or are simply untalented at using it. It’s useless.
