A lot of the time if someone loses to another player its just a pure build diff, especially if they have more expensive gear like blasted power amulets, sunkens, etc
So, if two players want to truly see which one is better, why not do a gearless duel? No armor, no jewels, no buffs, no BS.

I would argue build making is a skill, but then I think I’d be generous saying that 5% of the PvPers came up with their builds
there’s only 2 categories of builds in this game now, attack speed builds primarily used by mages, warriors, conjurers with the most basic using shadow and/or lightning and then there’s size builds for warlocks, berserkers, also warriors, warlords and juggernauts
generally attack speed builds have higher dps and even without their stats something like a shadow lightning mage will still win

Unarmored fights are pretty fun, so long as both parties are honest.
Only amulet fights (where you choose one max amulet from a storage account and wear it)
I do it regularly just to annoy my friends
