Are there enough lost/rare spells so that every mage build is truly unique?

so like 4 new spells were added in the most recent patch as of me posting this, now im wondering do you think there are enough spells in the game so that each mage build is actually unique?

Sorta yes and no, while I do believe skillsets may differ decently from player to player, I imagine there will be some spells that will be present within all builds… mainly the ones people would deem as ‘meta’

Yes, but I doubt people are gonna use every spell. I wouldn’t be surprised if people just stick to blast beam anyways. so it’s unlikely that people would make unique builds but it will deffo be possible

most of them stick to over 180 magic stat, while if Full Release comes out in the late december as was speculated, given the current level cap in the trello we’re gonna have… like… 175-180 level? It’s very underwhelming for most spells, so i can tell that most hybrid magic builds will still be stuck with blast & beam, javelin at most.
Some magic fans like me would invest more into magic - thus they will most likely be using Hasta, Meteor (They would if the requirement wasn’t increased from 180 to 240 again) and other stuff
But it’s really unlikely to be honest, Hybrids will suck in full release im pretty sure, unless we start using some nerdy combos like adding a grease and blood diseases to your build

pvp wont be as prevalent as it used to be so i can hope in players experimenting with other spells more

No, for everyone will eventually converge to the new-found META, as is the fate of all games with no aspect of RPS in their combat.

Maybe, but there are definitely gonna be a few spells that no one uses because they arent very good (like array)

id assume people will generally always go for meta stuff, but perhaps theres enough rare spells to justify only taking some spells with specific magic. like maybe some are better on slower magic and others on faster ones.

Mostly no.

There’s going to be a new meta and then everyone’s gonna gravitate towards what’s better and leave behind all the crappy spells

This isn’t a bad thing though, every meta evolves like this, and while some people might choose to run more niche options, overall most mages are just gonna restabilize after the dust settles into a new normal

Also some of the spells we have now are integral to mage as a whole and I doubt they’re going to be replaced any time soon… like I don’t think anything is going to be replacing the versatility of javelin or pulsar’s excellence as a “go the other way” tool

I think we’re at a point where some people may replace blast with cannon just because they can’t fit everything unless they axe one, which feels like progress to me.

yea but cannon is kind of ass

no not.

pretty sure it has a chance to go like 20 feet infront of you

I mean, sure, it can’t hit a target that’s standing right in front of you, but that can be worked around, and also countered by self explosion.

Blast is irreplaceable I’m gonna be fr

Ancient magics gonna require you use something else, and cannon does more damage for the same effect, so my bets are on cannon.

Yea but it’s got longer cooldown :broken_heart:

The humble intensity stat

Who’s running high enough intensity to let you mage cycle with cannon
