As a semi advanced roblox developer, You can’t add more part into a meshpart.
When you convert it to a meshpart, sure it does behave normally like how it would. But in fact to create that smooth hitbox it create many polygons to form a shape like that.
Which would cause performance drop. Now imagine hundreds on those… or maybe thousands of those when the game is completed. There will be a huge performance drop.
Also by making trees have square hitboxes. It not only preventing performance drop but also make magic easier to interact with.
Vetex does things intelligently. He tried to optimize the best he could possibly do. He has his own will of doing things, he prefer performance to realistic and so do we. You don’t want a good roblox game that cost you 32GB Ram to run.

try walking around a tree while hugging it as closely as you can, you’ll definetily find that weird hitbox spike that way
