honestly, when it comes to something like gender dysphoria (the actual medical condition), the best thing you can really do is transition. no amount of repression, conversion therapy, or trying to rewire your brain to match your sense of gender to the one you’ve been assigned to can make someone with dysphoria just “accept” their body. god knows i’ve tried, and many others kill themselves trying. i don’t mean to put a medical component to being trans because there’s more complexity to it than that, but genuinely, if you want people to be happy, just allow them the freedom for that.
transition is possible, and chances are you’ve already run into a trans person without even realizing it.

You’re right. I do occasionally forget that the surgery for transitioning exists. Even though it may not be 100% perfect, the results ive seen are remarkable and is better than nothing for those with gender dysphoria.
But being realistic here, most people in the vetexgames forums are pretty young. i’d say ranging from 14-22. Using USA statistics from 2024 (yes i know the world doesnt revolved around it). 54% of that youth is employed. Then theres a fair chunk of those who have student costs or contribute to household bills.
I think its a reasonably fair assumption that depending on where you are, decent-high quality gender re affirming surgery is nigh unaffordable for young people. Sometimes parents aren’t willing to drop the money for it for whatever reasons it maybe whether its financial or religious.
circling back to my point to what i said to archenhailor. Its ultimately going to always be better to spend your time and energy into the things that you can control. dwelling on the things you can’t control gets you nowhere besides a pit of despair and sometimes self resentment.
In the case of getting surgery. Instead of bashing your head in against a wall because you can’t identify with your own body, its far more productive to find a decent j*b, build your savings until you can afford it.
