Maybe, but at the same time I feel like they might show their ugly mug in this sea. After all, gods don’t die, they turn to dust and maybe reform, albeit taking a very VERY long time.

Tbh, if Ares isn’t “scattered” at any point in the story, I think he’d be very noticeable. As in, news say “do not go to (location), Ares was seen near there a few days ago”.
Athena, if she isn’t scattered, is probably in hiding, or attached to a specific place. Probably a place that has both a developed military, and greatly values knowledge.
