Artisan weapons

My personal understanding of the warrior class is basically the one where the talentless AO people fit.

Wanna survive in this g**forsaken world but you weren’t born lucky enough to have magic or a spirit weapon, don’t have or didn’t have time to build a strong body?

Grab a gun and shoot or use a dagger to shank them.

Now, this is all well and fine until you face your run-of-the-mill criminal or drunkard, but when your opponent can summon the fuc***g sun to fall on you, you might want to increase your firepower.

You were born a piece of s**t, so don’t expect to suddenly start moving the world with your mind alone.

You apparently had beef with some gods in your previous life, so when you asked them for help, well, let’s just say that they were at least of humor good enough to end it with a no.

You are hardworking though, congratulations, so you learnt to move a little bit of air imbued with some magic energy, good job.
The problem is that your opponent is throwing at you a g*****n tornado.

Now, you might wanna start using that fashion accessory called a brain that you drag with you.
You are a human, and what are humans good at other than grabbing bananas from a tree?

Building tools.

So when some c**t starts throwing at you balls of energy of some kind, you might wanna use that strange glowing piece of metal, wood, whatever it is that you found while scavenging for some guy lost wallet, to make sashimi out of those guy’s b*lls, in either a sense or the other.

Long story short, artisan weapons for me mean two things:
Either find some glowing rock, polish it and attach it to your metal rod to build your personal glowing stick.
Or make your personal glowing stick out of a bigger piece of glowing rock.

was the censoring needed

i find it funny that despite that, despite everything, you cant use a shield and a sword at once, nor are you ambidexterous

This ain’t even a bad word :sob:

I don’t think it’s possible, no one can dash forward and slash with a shield blocking them

Right, it’s a reality :joy:

my idea for artisan weapons was that you would find some sort of master blacksmith. then you take a weapon from your inventory (like and old sword or ravenna gs) and it’s quality dicates the slots your artisan weapon has. then you would be able to customize your affinities in some way, maybe you get 3 points and can subtract and add the points increments of .05. you can then get a reagent and what ever reagent dictates a potion effect that the weapon would inflict.

rare example of ao gameplay reflecting the lore

dark sea diamond mfs:

Not a bad idea but seems redundant with both conjurers imbuement (not that I’d be against it) and gel potions (this one I mind a bit).

Nice :skull:

I’m not reading allat, what kind of formatting is this?

imbuements from conjs have their own imbue affinities
if i wanna get melting on a fast weapon it will be difficult

also its different from gels since each weapon could have it’s indivdual status

My Idea for Artisan weapons

Obtainment
First the player must seek out a master blacksmith, they are found on islands in later seas.

Crafting
They must bring a weapon blacksmith, depending on it’s quality the artisan weapon will have a different amount of skills and affinity stats to allocate. Additionally the player can choose a reagent to affix to the weapon, giving it a status effect and synergies.
