So after the new User of the Month badge was revamped, I feel like there should still be an occasional award thing for the Artists. One of my suggested reasons for the change was because Artists were always the ones who received the badge, but now that it’s basically regulars who contribute a lot, the Artists aren’t getting much love.
There are two ways this can be implemented. Either award an Artist of the Month or an Artwork of the Month. I suggest doing an Artwork of the Month, since there are only a handful of Artists, and the Art community isn’t getting much growth in members either. So as time passes, basically most Artists would have been awarded the badge assuming you can’t get it twice. An Artwork of the Month would be easier to select, since only one artwork needs to be judged, whereas selecting an Artist would require you to look at all their art.
I suggest that the Verified Artists/Staff are the ones who judge the artworks, since they probably have better taste and know more factors contributing to a good artwork, like tone, shape, colour etc.
