ik its cliche but like, im curious
People getting sued for trying to help people stay alive.
Like even if someone doesn’t have a “do not resuscitate” band or tattoo, you still have to get their consent to administer first aid, so unfortunately if you’re a male and the person who needs first aid is a female, you can get sued for trying to do the right thing.
Although interestingly enough if the person you asked for permission to give first aid falls unconscious, their choice instead defaults to giving permission to give assistance (make sure you research this since it might be different where you live), so if someone passes out and even if they said that they didn’t want help (or to be touched by a male) you are allowed to help.
And to my knowledge this is the only time that consent defaults to yes, but ONLY for this specific situation.
How’s it affect you?
This must a regional thing because in America (which I believe you implied you were not from) we have things called Good Samaritan laws where you cannot be punished for saving someone’s life. (Like if you broke a rib while giving chest compressions)
It’s more of a consent thing, where people may not want to be touched over giving themselves a better chance at survival.
I believe our good samaritan laws cover that as well, you cannot sue them for anything that happened if they attempted to save your life (though i dont know how far the protections go)
Did those laws exist when The Incredibles was made?
If yes, we may have found a minor plot hole.

i mean there are superheroes as well so could just be a parallel earth that developed differently
Come to think of it, I don’t remember The Incredibles referencing any real-world locations…
I mean the movie is clearly mimicking the setting of an American suburbs and city, minus when it’s on the tropical island.
More importantly, if you’re making a critique of the US legal system, you can’t just write a plot point that could only happen without the US legal system.
oh this reminds me, iirc the Incredibles apparently takes place in the 70s, not like mid 2000s

How do they help with people with mental health?
If your mental is healthy, I’m not sure if you really need help.
I believe that there’s courses for mental health first aiders, but aside from that I don’t really know what they do.
Actually, I believe Matpat covered this in a video and he found that in the very specific time period of when the incident of The Incredibles took place, you could sue over this kind of thing.
