“I’m setting pen to paper again
Lost my sense of home from the words that I’ve said
But the thoughts have begun to ferment in my head”
A few months ago, I had the idea for an animatic/song comic set to the song “Ramblings of a Lunatic” by Bears in Trees. The animatic would focus around Morden, and his journey through obtaining the curse, and the conflict between himself and the Curse’s intent.
This sadly never came to fruition. Though I may revisit this project in the future, in the mean time enjoy these four frames.
This is my redesign for Morden. Focusing more on making him look like a drifter, rather than a goth or a warrior. In my mind, I like to think that he’s always had a low body temperature wherever he went (which is exacerbated by the Death Curse) this led him to often wearing warm clothes, like coats and scarves even in a Ravenna summer. The gloves, shown in the bottom right image, are to hide the scars on his hands. Which he got from the Order’s experiments.
