we already have an abundance of secondary stats, and now the amount from atlanteans is doubling??? Not to mention atlantean defense is a pretty high amount already

The doubling of the alt stats on Atlantean brings them in line with the ratio present in the rest of the game

yeah we should let you cook im sure you know how to balance an mmorpg better than everyone

you do realize all of the new items are made in preparation for nimbus right? like obviously everything there will be scaled up, thats kinda why theres levels and stats and progression in the first place

I have generally the same concerns as y’all do, but I don’t think Atlantean items will become commonplace in PvP. Insanity is pretty annoying and I don’t think anybody really wants to either suck it up or stack Virtuous onto something.

Now atlantean might actually be worth the insanity cost for anything outside of +12 power.

In theory yea, that’s exactly what the boost does

Bro doesn’t know…

yea I know, I mean for the other effects it gives that are being buffed lol.
+12 power was the only potential stat it gave that was worth the cost.

well I didn’t mean it too literally but was explained under that comment

ig that explains it all!!

uh oh

did i miss something in the pvp scene? should i be afraid?

all that’s happening is that the substat values are being brought up to be the same worth as power :skull::skull::skull: ZERO power creep is happening

Like, this isn’t even a discussion. This is just comical ignorance

how will players that didn’t grind the dark sea fare when nimbus drops? for example, if a new player just started playing when nimbus is already out and progresses through the story normally (after windrow they depart to the nimbus sea), will nimbus be scaled with that in mind or is getting all the new loot, enchants and jewels necessary to be strong enough?

I have a feeling this is exactly what vetex intends, some grind is part of a mmorpgs

They’ll probably have higher tier/better items, and the boss drops from Nimbus will likely scale proportionally. Although, my main concern is that as we add more and more levels, eventually we’ll end up with absolutely ridiculous stats, and the logarithmic scaling of some of these stats means we’ll pretty much be hitting a “soft cap” for every stat (except for power and defense since those are linear).

Gonna use a normal agility enchant for this example:
1.5x per 10 levels
level cap is 1000 (we’ll use a level 750 piece of armor in this example)

1.5 x (750/10) = 112.5 for each Nimble enchant
So yeah, we’ll probably be hitting the soft caps, but this should also be expected. Although I feel by 3rd sea we’ll probably be able to easily hit over 200-300 for 3 stats with exotic enchants. My main concern now lies in jewels, they might simply just get power crept and musgravite will unironically become the best jewel :skull:
(ignoring potential legendary gems)

the effectiveness of secondary stats could scale with level
