I think people overexaggerate how bad Attack Size/size stacking builds are when Agility and Attack Speed builds exist.
At least Attack Size has actual counterplay, that being the G key. While with Agility, you pretty much lost the fight if they have more than you, and with Attack Speed, they can easily endlag demon you or barrage you with unreactable, heavily desynced attacks.
You can also dash to avoid attacks, but both come with the caveat of using a lot of Stamina if used too much. Blocking and Parrying isn’t going to carry you forever; eventually, you’ll be using your HP for dashing and be unable to block for long, which will make you an easier target for attack size builds.
I have a severe skill issue with stamina management by the way, so that might be why I think that
ideally neither atk speed nor size wouldve ever existed, the main stats would be power and def. all attacks would be consistent and way easier to balance
Agreed, people always make the point that “attack size lowers your skill because you don’t have to aim” and while I think there’s truth to it, most stats provides you an advantage that lowers the skill floor in some way. For example Attack speed can severely lower your punishment window with the startup and endlag reduction, making you need less overall timing awareness.
bro got folded to one of those builds and made a post about it cause this is the first time ive seen you make one.
In all seriousness, i agree. I think the reason why agility and attack speed are strong substats is because they help BOTH your offensive and defensive capability.
Agility lets you chase or rush with less struggle whilst giving you the option to backdash and keep your distance. In the case of bounty hunting, it lets you skedaddle.
Attack speed simultaneously offers you more opportunities to land hits in which other cases is not possible without the stat and reduces your own window of getting punished.
Attack size increases what the name implies but it does little to keep you safe besides keeping you a little bit concealed in your own abilities graphic effects.
