On a warm and quiet night, in a seemingly normal house, Melody is tucking her twin children into bed. “Sleep tight, my little stars,” she said as she kissed both of them on the forehead. “Mom, can you tell us a story? One about dad?” Asks the son. Melody smiles warmly “Sure, Tesh. Is that alright with you Kagami?” She asks his sister. “Y-Yeah…” Kagami says, clearly the shy one of the two. “Tell us about his battle with his arch rival!” Teshima asks, very eagerly. Melody takes a seat on a chair and puts her hands on her lap “Alright then, let’s see…” She says as she begins to recount the story in her head
“There your father was, locked in battle with his rival, Blake. They were nearly evenly matched, and it was like a never ending sequence of clashes. His Fire magic against Blake’s Shadow magic, his katanas against Blake’s Spirit daggers…it was simply two very strong wizards having the fight of the century. When everything seemed to be at a standstill, Blake jumped back and summoned a huge magic circle, unleashing his Ultimate Art The Neverending Void. Everything became consumed by darkness as your dad was surrounded by nothingness, feeling himself get weaker as the void began to hurt him…”
“W-What happened next?” Teshima asked, both excited and scared. Kagami was also concerned, but you couldn’t see it. “Well, he-” Melody is interrupted after a hand is put on her head, which pats her a few times. “I cut that void open and burned it to the ground, obviously” says Jinhao, their father. “Casting someone who’s already blind into complete darkness doesn’t really do much, so I just drew out my katana, let my Phoenix flames roll over the blade and cut the darkness wide open. Then I grabbed my other katana, flew forward and delivered the final blow to Blake”. Teshima bounced up and down excitedly after his dad finished the story, saying “Yes! I knew you would win!”. Jinhao smiles, “I’m glad to hear that. Now it’s time to sleep, both of you. You need your rest if you want to become strong like me”. The twins nod and close their eyes, falling asleep. Melody stands up and heads to the door with Jinhao. “Goodnight, my little stars,” she says before leaving.
