Awakenings are a great concept, but they can feel a bit underwhelming. Most just give a stat boost or a simple mechanic without really changing how you play or making your build feel more distinct.
Adding a few new features tied to each class could help awakenings feel more specialized and meaningful. Nothing too complex, just small, focused passives that reinforce each class’s identity and make the awakening feel like a real progression, especially for builds that don’t gain much from the current system.
Mage
Since Vetex confirmed that Mages will eventually use arcanium weapons, it makes sense to limit them to just one weapon slot after awakening. Letting Mages equip multiple arcanium weapons, despite being less efficient with them than Conjurers, steps into Conjurer territory, which should stay more specialized. Mages should be limited to wands, staffs, tomes, and orbs that serve as a controlled and focused magic weapon, similar to how wands work in Harry Potter. This keeps their identity clear while still giving them access to future arcanium content.
Warrior
Along with the extra stat point boosts and new visual effects that come with the awakening, Warriors should also gain access to a fourth weapon slot. This addition would open up so much more convenience and versatility, as well as putting it on equal footing with other pure builds getting one more slot for their specialization. Having an extra slot encourages versatile playstyles and strategic choices, letting Warriors adapt to different situations without feeling limited by their loadout.
Oracle
---**Life Steal**---
How it works:
Along with an AOE stat boost, oracles unlock a passive called Spirit Leech after awakening. It works exactly like a D.O.T, except 10-20% of the damage dealt by spirit weapons is returned as health if.
If you land a critical on the third hit, life steals healing percentage doubles.
Cons:
If you are hit while healing, the healing immediately stops.
Life steal only activates every 3 spirit hits.
Why this works:
Well in the lore spirit is directly tied to your soul, so it makes sense there would be a passive ability to manipulate the soul and use that to rejuvenate your own, for gameplay reasons it makes oracle way more viable and effective of a class instead of a direct copy of mage but slightly tweaked.
Names:
Now, because savant and paladin are unique names, and not just “stat build’s (insert trait)”. I think this should be the case for every build.
