The roblox staff probably misunderstood the bug report about “DFIntDebugFRMQualityLevelOverride” fast flag but essentially this answer means that render distance and quality was intended to be merged together rather than a separate thing, which a lot of people took advantage to have the max render distance with the lowest quality until the recent update a few days ago.
Essentially this is the end for potato pc users who wants to play arcane odyssey, this includes me, without roleplaying as a disabled person in-game. This pretty much means I probably won’t be able to complete my 1Mil Chest Opened Project since the game is essentially unplayable for me with how the game relies a lot on distance.
For context, here’s what the game looks like to me at quality 1 setting:
In relation to this, since I haven’t and won’t be able to complete my 1Mil chest opened project by january and probably for a really long time. I’ll be giving away some of the stuff I planned to celebrate what’s supposed to happen when I reach 1Mil chest opened. Wait for my thread in game discussion if you’re interested in getting them though don’t expect something extravagant.
I am somewhat disheartened though since I wanted to reach 1Mil chests opened before I prepare for my board exam which is why I set a deadline for January, pretty much I am pretty close to reaching it too as seen in my stats:
I made the bug report for it but it’s closed now after the roblox staff responded. Just sucks that roblox keeps “fixing” things that don’t need fixing.
On the bright side though, it seems they do have plans to have more individual settings for players and I’m assuming that means render distance too. Though knowing roblox, it will probably be a long time and by then I’d have to focus on working full time with no free time to play games.
one AO youtuber I saw who got into gamedev legit sized everything down by 10x as the first thing he did when making the game so people on 1 graphics could still see for miles
Yeah, they messed with the quality settings a few days ago. Hopefully this means that they really are working on new settings for players ingame. At the very least that’s what this message in the last part of their announcement means:
