it is able to bind them both equally, as anything above or below a 50/50 will consume the magic itself

a 50/50 in the concentration/strength of the elements?
so is it that difficult to just use the same amount of light and shadow magic in one instance?

or is it that normally when both make contact they become automatically imbalanced? because if so then that means if you are careful enough to use the exact concentration, some magic energy must either be gained or lost to make it automatically imbalanced. i wonder what mechanism would cause this?

It wouldn’t be impossible for balance magic to exist, since technically it would be a primitive magic, and that had stuff like teleportation and shit

Somehow, the first Equinox user mutated either Shadow or Light into Equinox. It didn’t require them to fuse both; it was simply a mutation, just like any other mutation . When using Equinox magic, don’t consider Equinox as a combination of Shadow and Light; it’s Equinox, end of story. Just because it harnesses and exploits the combination of Shadow and Light does not mean that it is two magics; it is simply Equinox.

so this is like scenario #1 in my longer post. equinox is a separate substance from light and shadow.

so equinox’s imbalance has nothing to do with the imbalance of the combination of light and shadow? what does the trello then mean when it says “a perfect balance of light and darkness”?

Ancient magics are likely primitive magics, which were somewhat different from normal magic. It may be possible that there was an early version of equinox as a balance of light and darkness

That wouldn’t work at all, since the earth is solid and water is liquid. If you put them 50/50 you’ll get the water seeping into the earth and making it less dense.

Teleportation isn’t shifting reality, and primitive magic results in its users expending their soul to even use it, often resulting in them dying sooner than later.

Primitive magic = the magic that eats away at your soul rapidly and decreases your lifespan rapidly.
Primitive magic also = The magic that allows you to do whatever the hell you want.

Ancient magics = Still bound to a specific element/theme/whatever
