Considering beast defense makes you tougher to attacks from animals, and most of those attacks consist of blunt damage and other various typical strikes against the body, why doesn’t beast defense get reworked to just make you more generally resilient to things like falling, tornadoes, NPC attacks(?), and the like? It would make the armor stat feel more grounded in reality as it comes from heavy armor pieces, which would protect you from more than just crazed Sameria boars
Add weight to these pieces aswell it’ll make it peak
I’d only accept a weight stat if it had funny interactions with certain moves
Like making “slam” abilities such as devastate faster and do more damage if you know what I mean

I don’t think giving people extra HP AND the ability to significantly reduce damage while charging attacks is a good idea

The biggest issue with beast defense is by far the fact that its tied to vanity for absolutely no reason.
I think instead beast defense should be merged with resistance (and given all these other damage resistance effects) since it just makes sense.
Rename the current defense stat to vitality and rename resistance to defense.
You don’t wear plate armor to magically have more health, you wear plate armor to negate damage.
I think vetex wants everyone to look like generic knights too much to give a widely desired rework
the best answer is not needing beast defense and having beasts do regular dmg like everything else and not this stupid “immersive” % dmg cause with that reasoning all weapons and fight styles should be %dmg
