Being a berserker with basic combat as the main is strange. Not because it’s bad, but because everything is just so much better. It’s not bad, but by a PVP and PVE standpoint it’s outmatched by everything else besides an all vitality build. Fighting styles are built to have synergy with different magics, not other fighting styles and I think that’s what really brings down the berserker class: fighting styles aren’t built to work with one another.
More fighting styles will of course be added, but the sad future I see is that these fighting styles will lack the same synergy that magic or weapons have. It is why I propose this: special synergies that fighting styles will have with each other. The synergies I’m going to suggest will work even with elements that seem to conflict. Now lets begin.
For the sake of development, fighting styles will only have three synergies with each other.
SAILOR STYLE
Sailor Style + Thermo Fist: If a person is affected by the “soaked” status effect and are then hit with any attack from Thermo Fist, the person will be affected by the “Steamed” status effect, dealing high damage over a short period of time (does not stack)
Sailor Style + Boxing: If a person is soaked and are then hit by any attack from Boxing, they will get the “shockwave” status effect, enhancing the knockback of Boxing and causing the person’s screen to shake violently for a few seconds.
Sailor Style + Basic Combat: If a person is soaked and is then hit by any attack from Basic Combat, they will get the “Drowned” status effect, blurring the person’s screen and turning it a dark blue while slowly draining stamina.
THERMO FIST
Thermo Fist + Sailor Style: If a person is affected by the “soaked” status effect and are then hit with any attack from Thermo Fist, the person will be affected by the “Steamed” status effect, dealing high damage over a short period of time (does not stack)
Thermo Fist + Cannon Fist: Thermo Fist’s “heat” now applies to cannon balls. If a player uses Cannon Fist with heat, all cannon balls will glow a bright orange and any hit from Cannon Fist applies the “super-heated” status, enhancing the damage of ignition.
Thermo Fist + Basic Combat: If a person is ignited from Thermo Fist, any attack from Basic Combat will cause that person to explode, dealing great damage.
BOXING
Boxing + Iron Leg: If a person is affected by the “bleeding” status affect, any attack from boxing will apply the “gushing” status effect, enhancing the damage over time.
Boxing + Sailor Style: If a person is soaked and are then hit by any attack from Boxing, they will get the “shockwave” status effect, enhancing the knockback of Boxing and causing the person’s screen to shake violently for a few seconds.
Boxing + Basic Combat: I don’t know
IRON LEG
Iron Leg + Boxing: If a person is affected by the “bleeding” status affect, any attack from boxing will apply the “gushing” status effect, enhancing the damage over time.
Iron Leg + Cannon Fist: Since both Cannon Fist and Iron Leg can cause bleeding, if a person is affected by the bleeding status affect and is affected by another, both are combined to apply the “gushing” status effect.
Iron Leg + Basic Combat: The users fists are now coated in Iron while using Basic Combat, allowing the player to apply the “gushing” status affect to other players.
CANNON FIST
Iron Leg + Cannon Fist: Since both Cannon Fist and Iron Leg can cause bleeding, if a person is affected by the bleeding status affect and is affected by another, both are combined to apply the “gushing” status effect.
Thermo Fist + Cannon Fist: Thermo Fist’s “heat” now applies to cannon balls. If a player uses Cannon Fist with heat, all cannon balls will glow a bright orange and any hit from Cannon Fist applies the “super-heated” status, enhancing the damage of ignition.
Basic Combat + Cannon Fist: I don’t know
