Best Ingredients for Cooking?

This is the best recipe in the game as far as status effects go.

Unfortunately, due to a bug, it gave me a meal with Energizing IV instead of Energizing V. If the game worked correctly, this meal should grant all three of its main effects at tier V. I don’t know if the bug has been fixed yet and I’m not about to waste another Massive Colossal Squid testing it.

The best ingredient is the Golden Sky Pumpkin. Keep in mind that the Golden Giant Lemon restores more base hunger, but due to its flavor staying the same while the pumpkin’s improves, it’s ultimately not as good for cooking. But if you have a free slot, definitely throw one in.

Golden Orange Swiftcap is my go-to mushroom, but if you don’t care about the Agile effect, then Golden Omprela Mushrooms are better for the higher hunger count.

Sun Caraways are pretty good, but not as important now that golden ingredients are a thing. Until Full Release, they are the only way to reach Energizing 5, since we don’t have legendary mushrooms yet. Sun Caraways are a good way to make the most out of non-optimal ingredients, though. If you don’t have any legendary fish, you can still get Recovery 5 with just an exotic.

Horizon Rosemaries are nice for the Fortified effect, but they don’t give any hunger, and you need to remember that they can’t be combined with Orange Swiftcaps or Cursed Mushrooms, or else you’ll make a mistake.
