Best Poison Combination

For my main build I’m thinking of going pure mage with poison as my main magic.

It might not be optimal for DPS but poison is my favourite and the goal for this build is maximum damage output.

I was wondering what people might think is the better 2nd magic to compliment the build:
Fire - 25% bonus damage to poisoned targets BUT poison deals 10% damage to burning targets
Glass - Applies bleed to enemy (already good status effect) and poison deals 25% more to bleeding enemies

Writing it out Glass seems like the more obvious choice, but maybe other magics besides the ones listed may be better?

Glass would be good, any bleed magic would be.

I think metal could be fun because youd have 2 of the highest overall damage magics in the game, one ticking away slowly and one doing blunt force

I was thinking on Poison Warlock with thermo fist. I would like to try to ignite the clouds with thermo fist (I don’t know if its possible, i guess it is)

Damn that actually sounds like a really interesting idea, choosing 2nd magics for builds is going to be so tough

I think Poison conjurer/warlock builds won’t be very strong, I remember reading somewhere that vetex said imbuing fighting styles/weapons with poison won’t make them release poison clouds on attacks at least for now.

I think you’d want a magic that deals extra damage to poisoned targets. Poison lasts forever on someone, at least relative to other DoTs which are much less. Poison doesn’t excel in straight up damage by itself. If you want to boos that damage then yeah Glass is probably your best bet since that can cut people up good.

But I’d recommend a magic that benefits from targets being poisoned.

Fire seems pretty ideal. Not only do you do extra damage to poisoned targets but you can destroy/detonate your poisonous clouds for a little explosion. This gives you a fair amount of crowd control that you may want to capitalize on. Fire can be the offense, poison can be the support.

So glass or fire, you pick based on what you wanna do.

I was thinking about using the poison clouds to ignite, The poison status does damage by the starter damage of the attack, so i would make a One shoot damager spell and a Spell for multiple explosion to spread the clouds, And them ignite it with thermo fist.

I’m pretty sure the fire + poison combination just got nerfed lmao.

Poison + Fire does still seem like a pretty good choice since it looks like the DoTs of Poisoned and Burning will stack on eachother.

Out of curiosity, do you have any builds planned for AO?

I have planned a Sand Conjurer with very good mobility to aproach the Sand status.

A few. I got a mid game conjuror in mind. Sound Magic w/ Instruments.

Another one I got in mind is an Explosion Cannon Fist Warlock w/ Explosive Cannonballs.

Finally a dual sword using Iron Leg warlord.

I got a few other niche builds in mind like a cowboy gunslinging warrior. Nothing mechanically unique about each of them. I’m going to try to get Basic Combat and Basic Combat on my main file. I think it may be possible but I gotta wait and see how Berserkers’ awakenings work.
