Honestly I like all the starters for gen 9, their final evos are some of the most complex design wise out of many of the older starters and I like how they deviate from the theme that other starters had gone with before

Honestly it’s pretty neat that they decided to go away from their traditional things with the gen 9 starters, skelidurge isn’t based on chinese zodiacs, quaquaval isn’t based on weaponry, and meowscarada isn’t based on an extinct animal

Decidueye is based on an extinct owl species that lived in the hawaiian islands called the stilt owl
