A unique unlock in the Primary slot for the Pyro. It increases the switch speed to and from itself, but you deal 75% less afterburn damage with the weapon, and airblast costs 25% more ammo.
Points to the Luminous Lantern: in darker environments, it is useful to see your own movements and what is right next to you. If you get stuck due to some random stud of terrain, you are open for a heavy punish, so the lantern helps you see that coming and free yourself faster. Plus, it gives you aura points to intimidate the opponent and worsen their concentration.
Points to the Flare Fun: after firing it, you will have to wait less time between fights, and utilise your splash damage more effectively, since it aggroes NPCs in a wide area. Could be very effective with a regen build, as you can farm health off of weaker enemies and use it to oppose the stronger ones.
But, the Flare Gun has cons - you can easily die from the amount of enemies you attracted, the radius of its effect may be larger than you need, and it does nothing in PvP but attract more people to gank you. The only use there is if you also have a team somewhere, and want to give them a signal.
TL/DR: Vote for the Luminous Lantern, it is the correct choice
I am noticing a very apparent problem. The people voting on this poll clearly lacked skill in rating and judging the weapons’ effectiveness. I provided clear and accessible proof of the Luminous Lantern being superior in combat to the Flare Gun, and people haven’t voted off of the wrong choice yet? You get limb loss after pressing m1 unless you have 6-700 strength stat
luminous lantern is actually quite helpful because you can see terrain when its dark while fighting against npcs
in pvp tho its an active detriment because otherwise its literally a beacon
With Sensing’s aura reveal on hit, wearing a beacon on your hip isn’t a problem. Especially since most pvpers have definetely found all Athena notes and own the blessing that extends the reveal duration by 50%. This is a nothing-downside.
Getting stuck under some random unbroken stud of terrain during a pvp fight, just because you weren’t wearing a lantern to see it, is going to get you killed.
