Suddenly, all there was to see was flash of brilliant light. The light fades, and with it you find yourself in what seems to be a giant lobby filled with shelves upon shelves of books
Senior Librarian: Looks like we got a newbie! Tonight’s gonna be fun!
Rookie Librarian: I finally get to have junior! This will be fun right~~
Gloomy Librarian: These idiots are all gonna get drunk later and just make work harder..
This is definitely going to be troublesome. Welp, nothing left to do but figure out what’s happening. Might as well go ask those people who look like receptionists.
Receptionist: a new guy huh? been a bit since we got one, about time. She hands you a book. this is yours, now get out of here and get to work, i’m almost on break.
'Who are you?'
Receptionist: great, someone who asks questions. i’m lisa, i assign work. now get to work.

The man grabs your shoulders Joe: FINALLY! SOMEONE TO TALK TO! Ahem Sorry about that, nobody really talks to me, I’m not sure why. Yup I’m Joe. This is Khlerti (Clair-Tea), The Great Library of The Archipelago. As a librarian here, your job is to manage the books here. We don’t get new librarians here too often, but it’s a nice stable job.
'I heard something about you having an affinity with energy? What's with that?'
Joe: I guess you really don’t know too much. Don’t worry! Your buddy Joe will teach you all you need to know. Our souls naturally have an affinity that they are good at and some that they are bad at. Usually these are related as well, where being in tune with one usually meaning you are out of tune with another. There are seven major affinities that are signified by color. Red is closely related to the sun, constantly burning. Orange is closely related to the life of living creatures, constantly pumping blood. Yellow is closely related to the earth, constantly moving and quaking the earth. Green is closely related to plants, constantly spreading and consuming. Cyan is closely related to the sea, constantly rippling and changing. Indigo is closely related to the twin moons, constantly reflecting each other. And finally Purple which is related to the stars, constantly trying to shine the brightest. There are two more colors as well, being black and white. Black is closely related to space, constantly empty. White on the other hand is cosely related to energy, constantly active. We know how the colors correlate due to special crystals that form on the archipelago. Even white and black crystals exist, with white being accessable to anyone but being a rare crystal and black being the most common crystal that most people are unable to use. We at the library instead use ourselves and our books instead. That book you were given, yea that’s you, telling you all about yourself before you arrived here. I’ve been talking for quite a while huh. Take some time to read up on your book. After that, you can just sort some books until we need you. Nice to meet you.

With that all out of the way, let’s make your book. Your book should contain your charcters name, backstory if you would like, and where they are from (Islands are lettered from A-Z, with each island being different, like Ackleir ack-lay-ear being the safest island and Zernoct share-knocked being the most dangerous island, or Mmehnsir men-seer being known as a place meteors often fall). You also need to choose your affinity. All are available besides white and black.
Your job as a librarian is sorting books. Your main job as a librarian is to settle the books through combat when the books act up (due to them wanting to be read after being ignored), or going into the books to actively research them, which may induce combat. While not often due to the library carefully selecting who may visit, some visitors of the library (usually external researchers, but occasionally those in power) may end up causing a scene, and as such you need to subdue them. To do that, you need to rely on your trust book. It may not be the weapons that people on the archipelago use, but they are your greatest asset.
How to use your book for combat. Unlike using crystals, your book can effect reality to an extent. This is because books are made of paper with metal bindings, but that part isn’t too important to you. While most librariens fight with just the book, your book can manifest weapons. Whether it be one main weapon or a few different weapons for each attack, weapons are available for use. If a weapon is used, your skills will change to that weapons attack type (slash, pierce, blunt), otherwise the attack will be based of your attacks affinity. You will have 3 different skill types, and a defense skill of your choice between evade, counter, gaurd, clashable counter, and clashable defense(however, it will be whatever your main affinity is). You can use all seven main affinities, but attacks will be weaker when they do not synergize. Similar to limbus for most status’ and such. Purple gives more self buffs than usual. Tremor has no count. Burn is more like LoR

Pick one to use as a main. Using a bad synergy will lower damage to 0.8x. Using a good synergy will add effect infliction from your main affinity. It is reccomended to have multiple affinities for a better spread of status’. This is mostly team fights.
Red. Doesn’t synergize well with Green or Cyan. Synergizes with Indigo and Purple
Orange. Doesn’t synergize well with Cyan or Yellow. Synergizes with Purple and Green
Yellow. Doesn’t synergize well with Orange or Indigo. Synergizes with Purple and Green
Green. Doesn’t synergize well with Red or Purple. Synergizes well with Cyan and Yellow
Cyan. Doesn’t synergize well with Purple or Red. Synergizes well with Indigo and Green
Indigo. Doesn’t synergize well with Yellow or Purple. Synergizes will with Orange and Red.
Purple. Doesn’t synergize well with Indigo or Green. Synergizes well with Yellow Orange Red and Cyan

X (X), Not much is known about X, as it is not accessable by the public.
Yhn (Yin), Known for being beneath the sea
Zi (Shi), Known for being the most dangerous island.
Skills
All player skills have coins, with values of 15-20-25. You can choose the amount of coins between 1 and 14-24 (depending on skill). You also clash better based on the stat on the opponent/self.
Bonus
10 Burn, Bleed, Tremor, Rupture, Sinking on the enemy = 1 Final power
1 Charge potency or 10 charge count = 1 Final power
10 Poise = 1 Final power
Defense Skills:
Evade avoids taking damage, rolls a max of 20, can have multicoin evade
Gaurd gives roll/10% shield, rolls max of 20, can have multicoin
Counter hurts who hits you for 10% of the damage they did
Clashable Guard rolls a max of 20, can have multicoin. Does 5% stagger damage on win.
Clashable Counter is a skill 1 that does better status effects but less damage (also tremor burst skill 1 if tremor, which is normally only skill 3)
anyways this is stupid complex and may not happen but I’d love to see your characters and what you come up with. Random ideas lol. Other stuff I didn’t really elaborate on
Light based system similar to LoR (used to buy skills)
Important lore that is mostly just random
Go as specific as you want or as un specific as you want when making something
Skills follow a 4 8 12 rule for effects (adds that effect to self/enemy. Clashable counter is 8 but half damage).
