Some guy tried to trade 150 galleons for carina bracelets. When I declined he said that I had loads of carina drops (which I did because I was getting unlucky when trying to get carina chest) and that boss drops are worth nothing and said the highest he would go is 300 galleons. I basically told him to bog off and go scam someone else

Boss drops in the grand scheme of things aren’t actually worth that much, but they are more than 300 galleons.
Boss drops are only expensive when the boss is new and there aren’t many pieces in existence.
A carina armor piece as of right now is worth around 1.4k Galleons (which isn’t actually a lot)
The price of items in game don’t reflect how much they are worth in the player economy. If they did, they’d constantly shift + getting money would be too easy, which’d cause inflation.
Yeah I did have a feeling that boss drops aren’t worth much compared to others, but I wasn’t going to accept that little galleons for them. Especially since carina drops are some of the more useful boss drops.
i would say they still are, galleons are more worthless if anything
ofc, there are people with a bunch of them due to luck potions or wahtever
but theres also me who somehow got 0 drops after an hour of farming
the only time i would trade by boss drops is for another boss drops or something of equal/greater value
Yeah same here, I managed to get the carina legs in my first couple attempts but then it took around an hour and a half for me to get the carina chest piece. That’s why I have a full bunch of unused carina gear. Same thing happend with elius when I was grinding for scimitars of the storm. O had 3 stormcallers and three thunder spears 
Lol yeah, I farmed Calvus for literally more than 2 hrs and got a whole lot of mantellos and nothing else, like not even a single other drop
Yeah the struggle is real. Boss drop chances are just way too unfair sometimes.
Not a single boss drop is worth less than 1k galleons except iris’s armband and argos’s chainmail. All the others are easily worth 1.5k+ (usually no more than 5k tho), especially calvus armor and literally all boss weapons. So you did the right thing 
It seemed so rigged , like how do you get only a single type of drop for 2 hrs… I was trying to get a triasta but in the end, I had to trade for one
even though im more on the side that boss drops are ass and modified titanium/sorcerer outscales, trying to get one for 300 is just vile. These are still viable equipments, even if outscaled by uncommons, the latter need to be modified just to MATCH/be like 1 EP better.
In hindsight, they are actually pretty viable for building since all you do is beat the shit out of the boss instead of wasting your life away on charts.
dont undersell your boss drops, at the very worst its good collection items
