Newly introduced brewing and Jewelcrafting are systems that somewhat resemble Cooking. You use x amount ingridients to make an item. All 3 of them have their own levels ranging from Decent to Prefect but oddly enough only Cooking gives player EXP on top of skill exp.

Reason behind giving player EXP for brewing and jewelcrafting

Cooking is essential mechnaic in the game as it can give you buffs and prevent hunger’s de-buff from accuring. Potions on other hand, just give you buffs / debuffs depending on what you brewed, and Jewelcrafting just gives you buffs to armor sets.
While 3 of them are completly different mechanics, making them give player EXP for potion brewing or jewelcrafting can encourage more low level players to do it. Not only player is given buffs of mechanic that they are using, but they are also REWARDED via exp.

How can it work?

For brewing, the higer the tier of potion and the higher quality of vessel it is in, the more exp you are getting, of course it should be capped, because we dont want newbie to brew intercharge potion with golden pears and getting from lvl 17 to 35.
And as for jewelcrafting, only making jewel will give exp depending on how much gem cost and what kind of reagenet they are using. The socketing itself wont give exp.

I find it really odd that the potioncrafting tutorial quest is all the way over at sailor’s lodge too.
I’m not sure if there’s one of jewelcrafting yet or where it is if there is.

I think this is a really good idea, honestly. And it makes sense too. Especially if we take a second to think about the ‘traditional’ sense of experience- to have experience in something, to have done it before, to know how to do it. It makes sense that brewing jewels and alchemy makes you ‘smarter’ and more ‘skilled’ in game, and so helps with levelling.

I genuinely thought this was already in game, and it definitely should be in game cause that just makes sense.

I literally thought the exact same thing when I saw this lol.
