Build Ideas and Concepts

Imma give my part

  • Batman: Warlord that uses Iron Leg/Basic Combat (any fs that doesn’t use traces of magic, karate and basic combat would fit best) alongside daggers (batarangs) and any weapon you can think of (musket and swords are possible)
  • Aquaman: Water conjurer that uses Trident + 100% air capacity 90% swimming speed
  • Any Jedi (Preferrably Windu): Gravity Conjurer that uses a katana or any one handed sword. (Katana resembles more of a lightsaber with imbue)

people who exclusively play mage make me want to hurl

heres my list of builds:

basic combat warlord (my main)
Magma thermo warlock
poison conjurer (architect merlot skinwalk that turned out to be an actually good build)
sailor style/ironleg lightning warlord savant (also busted for no reason, i have like 60 power and do 300 damage)
explosion ironleg warlock
fire paladin (theos skinwalk)

keep in mind that i make my builds based on what sounds like a cool combo, i do not care about synergies in the slighest, if the build is good, hooray, if its not, whatever.

Can Wind Conjurer get big air time with the hammers and wind imbue with the knockback jewels? Or is it going to be subpar compared to a mage with Wind second magic?

i have other builds

I might have to make a fire paladin, so I can make it rain fire next update.

For this one the base magic could be plasma so the sword is basically a lightsaber.

True, you can also rock in the red plasma and it works for the sith

bro stole my idea smh.

First come first serve
Also you didn’t put a copyright trademark on it

Previous build I had: Acid Conjurer, thought it’d make Rain of Arrows leave acid puddles, that way I could have an acid rain (of arrows), but it did not. Unfortunate.

Concept Builds
Swift Heat (Plasma Thermo Warlock)

A week 1 fast thermolock that used to inflict absurd damage until its nerfs but still inflicts two great DoT status effects.
It was turned into a basic warlord after I realised that I had 3 other warlocks and was missing a warlord.

Blizzard Blade (Ice Conjurer)

An ice conjurer that exclusively makes use of “Heavy” weapons (Greatsword, Greataxe, Greathammer) alongside an Ice imbuement in order to unleash AoEs of freezing cold, mimicking the likes of a blizzard.
The build still isn’t done, and might take longer to make due to the addition of resistance (I may or may not change the armour for it).

Swift Wind (Light Wind Mage)

Rapidly dish out knockback multi-hits in order to mess with your opponent’s aim thanks to Light arcanium equipment.
It didn’t work as intended and had too weak of a damage output so it was turned into a Light Shadow mage in order to return to my sources (my Arcane Adventures character).

Cosplay Builds
Professional Boxer (Wind Boxlock)

“Quick feet, Mac! Quick feet!”

The little mac build.
Should it make use of agility, attack speed, or both?

Atomic Pillar (Plasma Explosion Mage)

“I…”
“…Am…”
“Ultimate Art: Ionized”

The build with stupidly high attack size and power in order to be ‘atomic’ (whatever that means)

Silly Builds
Beach Boy (Sand Sailock)

The combined power of the sea (sailor style) and the shore (coastal sand).
It’s the beach warlock, and it is surprisingly good despite its would-be negative synergy (maybe that’s why they exist?).

Artificial Growth (Wood Paladin)

Formerly a wood conjurer (so quirky), this file is my only one to have a fully complete set of armour.
The low range of wood magic with a lack of attack speed (and other weapons) makes it a close-range attack size fighter which can easily be overpowered (it’s a wood paladin).

Hopefully the new spirit weapon (and spirit weapon skills) will look great when imbued with wood magic. Its Spirit Rain might turn out to be overpowered due to the Wood imbuement?

Wood Paladin sounds like it could be really cool thematically if we can get our hands on Growth magic.

I ran into a Water Boxing warlock yesterday, the gloves glowed bright blue, I thought that was cool. Then I saw an Explosion Thermo Fist warlock making a bunch of explosions in a fight, which was also rad. That inspired me, I might make an Explosion Boxing warlock, Boxing gives knockback, right? Can it be on par with Wind magic’s knockback?

I main that and it’s downright one of the worst builds in the game

(moochezz) Weapons imbued with magic now create clouds and liquid puddles when applicable

Now all I need is to be able to make custom weapon move names, and I will be happy, that’s the main reason I don’t like doing weapon builds unless there’s an especially cool concept.

Anyone got any ideas for the new fighting styles? I was thinking Earth Vanishing, I don’t think slow attacks would matter when you’re invisible, and the critical hits could make it easier to cause bleed. Thematically it could be like the idea of mole people.

I guess I’ll share my most recent creation as well as what’s on my drawing board for now

Oven Mage (hazardmaxxing area denial)

Short video showcase (because you apparently can’t embed youtube links in these things)

Drawing board:

Minigun / Sniper mage

Uses extremely high attack speed to achieve a minigun-like effect on beam barrages:

I have no idea how viable this is but if it turns out to be terrible I guess I can fall back on just using it as a sniper mage with all that attack speed

Hazard Tank build

Inspired by veebea’s tank build, and also the fact that hazards unfortunately do not scale on power, (meaning they’re at their max dmg without any stats :smiling_imp:) this build essentially just full focuses defense to kite enemies while hiding behind clouds.

Probably would be best either as an ash paladin (because poison clouds can be hijacked and that’s not fun) or just as my current ash mage with the gear changed a bit.

Regen-Blocking build

Really stupid build that just abuses the fact that you can reach 100% blocking power with Blocking Musgravites and pairs it with regen so if you start losing a fight you can hold G to stop taking damage while you slowly recover it all.

Isn’t the max 142.52=70?

Those build ideas seem cool to me, I might have to try them since I already have an ash paladin and light mage.

My latest idea is Snow/Poison: Hit the enemy with poison, then use moves like Surge and Pulsar with Snow to blind the enemy while the poison ticks. I also look forward to having a snow mage - after experiencing the fun of max destruction magma/explosion, I think that blanketing Sameria in snow will be a nice change of pace. Not sure about vanity for it though.

in terms of drip my wind/snow mage is prolly gonna have a winter coat essentially you could try something like that

Be prepared to fight the horde.

:water_magic_var3: / :lightning_magic_var3: Mage: Supposed to be myself if Magic was real (unfortunately, however, we live in reality); I’d go for thunderstorm-based stuff in a heartbeat, since Heat stuff isn’t really my thing. I’m picking up Wind Magic on my third Awakening, and replacing it with Storm later on. My Ancient Magic really depends on what ends up being available to me. For some reason, I’ve always had some affinity for Water Magic in games with it available.

:acid_magic_var1: / Basic Combat Warlock: Originally made in WoM to be an evil, fucked up version of my main file a Villain file, but I wasn’t too committed to the Villain bit and ended up making him a Hero, since Neutral wasn’t really an option in WoM. Acid is surprisingly good with Warlock; I was planning on picking up Karate, but that got scrapped, so I’m going with Powder Fist instead.

:earth_magic_var3: Conjurer: Originally an :ink_magic_var1: file in WoM (oh hey, I got all three of the recolored icons), and ended up being my dedicated Villain file. I figured she’d be a Weapon user from the start. The reason I picked Ink originally was so I could play around with it before it got removed, and the reason I picked Earth when AO released was because I wanted a darkly-colored Magic that wasn’t Shadow, since I wanted to make a Savant with that in the future (that ended up happening). She’s also one of the first OCs that I’ve written numerous short stories or Flash Fiction pieces about, so she has that going for her. As for gameplay, Earth Conjurer is good if you know what you’re doing; you’re limited on what you can run, because Earth just destroys your speed. I’ve found success with Greatswords and whatnot.

:light_magic_var1: / :crystal_magic_var6: Paladin: This girl was made because I wanted a file for all Magic builds on one account. I went with Light because it seemed to fit the general “holy” theme of Paladins, and her surname is Light as well. I went with Citrine Crystal to fit Sunlight Light when Paladins had second Magics. Currently, Paladin is basically Mage 0.5, but I’ve fitted her with a speed-focused build so that she doesn’t feel the same as my main file. Who knows, maybe that’ll change when more Spirit Rites are available.

:shadow_magic: / :fire_magic: / :boxing_glove: Savant: Remember when I said I wanted to make a Shadow Savant? Yeah, this is him. I also wanted to make a file that only used stuff from Arcane Adventures and try out Fire Magic, so the opportunity basically presented itself. He’s pretty easy to use, surprisingly, although I need to make more use of my Weapons. Also, this is going to sound weird, but his design was something I saw in a dream about a video game. It was kind of like a first-person shooter, but your camera was behind the player character and it was a Magic Arena sort of game.

:wood_magic_var1: / Thermo Fist / Cannon Fist Savant: I wanted to try Wood Magic since it was and still is underused. When I get Heat built up, I can be pretty good, but until then I just stick to Cannon Fist M1s or Wood Spells. I also replaced Weapons with Vitality/Spirit.

Sailor Style / Iron Leg Berserker: Yes, I have the exact same build as you. I just wanted to use the two Fighting Styles I liked the most, and it turns out it was a meta combination at some point. Call me DJ Khaled, because I’m suffering from success. Anyway, I’m oddly good when playing as her; my Berserker build isn’t even complete, and yet I can actually win when getting ganked somewhat consistently. Last time it was a Wind/Thermo Warlock (certainly a new combination), and all I wanted to do was get my Drip situation figured out.

Basic Combat Warlord: It’s a representation of me again, but more realistic if you don’t count flying around like a helicopter. I also wanted Karate on this file, but I’m forced to stick with Vanishing Style now. It’s fitting too, since all I want people to do most days is act like they don’t see me. My Warlord is decent, although I might benefit from giving up the jokey Resistance build.

:boxing_glove: / Iron Leg Juggernaut: Inspiration was Mike Tyson, and that is actually all there is. He doesn’t play too differently from my Berserker; rush my opponent down, and spam my ranged options when low on health. When Juggernauts got second Fighting Styles, I didn’t use Iron Leg much at all.

Warrior: No inspiration at all. I decided on focusing on Attack Speed, and it’s gone pretty well. I can’t make a decent build for him at all, though; I’m doing a full Diatrys set with Carina’s stuff right now.

Knight: Based on my Paper file from WoM 2, who is in turn based on Amir from The Kite Runner. This is my storyless 100% file, so he doesn’t have his awakening. Honestly? It doesn’t change anything; if anything, I probably benefit from it right now because I’m not using health with imbuements. He’s basically another Warrior. I don’t use the Eagle Patrimony on him, since there’s only one Rite right now, and even if I got a Sunken Sword, I couldn’t use it to get Paralyzed anyway.

:poison_magic_var1: / ??? Warlock: Originally my 4-stat Weapons Savant, but I figured I’d get more out of him if I made him my Fighting Warlock. I plan to go for a Hecate Essence to switch to Explosion and then go for Sailor Style, since I want one go around with the Steam imbuement.

:lightning_magic_var3: / :glass_magic: / Cannon Fist Savant: I let the forums make this file. Not much to say about it.

:plasma_magic_var1: / :magma_magic: Mage: I wanted to give Heat Magics a fair shot, and I wanted to see more of the BETTER color for Plasma Magic. Neon purple is just nice to see.
