My favorite thing about Arcane Odyssey is the builds, I like coming up with clever and fun builds, both from a gameplay perspective and a theme perspective. Here are the builds I have made:
Sand+Lightning Mage
This is my main, I thought that hitting the sand piles with lightning would turn them into glass shards for enemies to step on, it just sometimes turned them into glass sculptures of sand piles if I was lucky - more often than not it destroyed the sand piles. Switched lightning out for wind for knockback fun, picked warm to fit with the sand theme. This is really the only character I play for now, working on making sets to give to my other characters.
Cannon Fist Warlord
Learned that Cannon Fist imbuement’s effects change based on the cannonballs you have equipped, so that was enough for me to make a Warlord, though I don’t favor weapons, I like being able to make custom move names. I like to call this build the CANNONLORD because CANNONLORD sounds cool. I hope there’s a Colossal Gun added, so I can pretend I am shooting an entire cannon.
Magma/Explosion Mage
I plan on giving this guy a max attack size set and a max destruction set for big explosions, nuking cities, and volcanic eruptions. I also like raining puddles of magma using a horizontal slice blast.
Sailor/Iron Leg Berserker
I just knew I needed to have a Berserker ready to go for when dragons are released, so I can punch a dragon in the face.
Poison/Thermo Fist Warlock
A misunderstanding of the mechanics led to this one. I threw poison bursts at someone, saw that multiple ticks of poison were going, though that you could stack poison effects on each other, so I decided to give this a go. It didn’t work as intended, but at least the effect looks cool.
Ash Paladin
In World of Warcraft, there is a Paladin weapon called the Ashbringer. Once I made the connection, I knew I had to make an Ash Paladin and call him the Ashbringer. This was the hardest one to level, as I had to make sure not to off Elius when mashing through the dialogue.
Freezing Savant
Sailor/Boxing/Snow/Weapons, 120 MAG/100 STR/60 WEP. Wanted to try my hand at making a savant, figured this would be a good setup to go with.
Earth/Ice Mage
Picked this for some more max size fun. I think it mirrors my Sand/Wind Mage, being Sandstone Earth/Ice vs Canyon Sand/Warm Wind. I enjoy seeing ice mages, the ice cubes sliding around.
Moonlight/Red Plasma Mage
I plan on giving this one max speed, pretty fireworks! I also named the character Fred Blue.
Gold Cannon Fist Warlock
I can pretend I am throwing gold at people, and make it rain gold blocks from the sky! It is a silly idea, which is all I need to justify making this build.
Wood Conjurer
Only use wooden weapons, preferably clubs, imbue with wood, smash things.
What are your current builds, and do you have any cool build ideas?
i decided to make both the coldest and hottest builds, which also happen to be my favourite and least favourite magics respectively
mage
going to get water for third magic of course, though once losts and ancients release they’re going to become more of a gravitational build than a cold one with gravity and pressure magic. they’re also only investing in attack speed
mage
this one is going to get healing and life magic when they release with max intensity to just spam heals
mage
planning on getting phoenix and sacrifice for this with high attack size
mage
getting magma as well, this one will actually stay the hottest build with heat and inferno magic with only defence
mage
the second hottest build, this one will have flare and blaze magic using just agility
mage
still the third hottest, this file will have sun and electron magic with high power
i’m also making hybrid versions of the first and fourth ones, just waiting for more spirit content until i make their paladins
i do have some other file ideas, but there aren’t enough files for those and i don’t want to use an alt
crystal-light mage
crystal is great for close range option, and light can be used to pick off any longer ranged enemies
at the same time, they do damage synergy (and light is a pain to fight against, especially when youre caught in snare/grab imbued light, ive encountered the latter one when fighting a lvl 60 cfist-light criminal. most annoying fight of my life)
I think one of the Forest of Masts quartermasters is a crystal/light mage if I recall correctly, they’d be a pain to fight if they weren’t next to a pillar to climb up.
I think the next character I make will be a crystal conjurer, so I can slam with a big crystal hammer and make a giant crystal. No idea if it’ll work how I envision it, but it sounds cool.
I was disappointed when I tried an acid conjurer, wanted to have an acid rain of arrows, but it didn’t leave puddles.
Imma put my two favorite builds in terms of future possibility
My main Sand Conj:
Obviously one of my favorites because it’s been my main since WoM, but my plans for this guy start with getting fire magic, mostly for synergy-maxing but also because when mutations come out, if I’m allowed to mutate my second magic I will mutate that fire into sun magic and become LORD OF THE DESERT!!! But if we can only mutate first magic then I can only hope vertex makes a sandstorm magic (which honestly probably wouldn’t be as cool as a SUN Conjurer but just imaging swinging around weaponized sandstorms)
My snow boxing warlock
Now rn this guy seems kinda underwhelming but in the future when we get VAMPIRISM magic I’m 100% getting it for this file because I’ve already themed his drip after an abominable snowman and this file would probably become my favorite if warlocks are allowed a lost fs AND lost magic so I could go blizzard and vampirism for some very bloody snow >:)
Since I know some people have youtube shorts attention spans I’m gonna keep this as brief as I can.
my main slots are:
92% Resistance Ice Mage
It’s pretty much just immortal during surge so I spam it as much as possible (Surge’s innate resistance stacks with the stat. Also it could be 99% if I took the time to farm abyssal arcanium armor)
300 size Explosion Iron Leg Warlock
All I see when I play this slot is Explosion’s crappy VFX and scattered 300!s
Metal Paladin
Abuses Vitality’s Vitality and Metal’s Resistance Aura to reach 3k HP despite only having 700 defense. Uses Regeneration make everything worse. (there’s also decent attack speed and power and 800 EP because modified Oracle gear insane but that’s not the fun part)
Poison Conjuror
Decent power/defense with light size and attack destruction gems so I can spread clouds really quick with a beam barrage if I want area denial
Max Knockback Wind Mage
Do I even need to explain this one? You aboslute noob. You have never heard of knockback wind mages before? Seriously? They are the coolest build in all of this Arcane Odyssey. You have the power to look at anyone and blast them into the stratosphere because screw you. There. You Happy new? I alleviated your lack of knowledge regarding basic surface-level iceberg material and youtube clickbait videos. Any chronically online Arcane Odyssey player should have already heard this before, and yet you had to take time out of your day to uncover a low-effort copypasta just to know what I was talking about. You absolute noob.
Glass on something is barely an imbue at all, glass Conjurer plays like a warrior but with Another weapon , (I speak from 600 hours spent on my glass Conjurer) glass imbue on warlock is basically just reducing your base damage a tad bit and giving it guaranteed bleed.
I was more going for a joke rather than combat effectiveness, but that’s nice to know. Maybe rushdown to push people into glass shards on the ground would make it useful? Probably not. You would get access to Glass arcanium gear, which is always nice if you don’t care for high defense.
