I think just making the area that the treasure can spawn in larger would make this better
For example “Buried in the sand at sea level halfway west south west of the centre of ravenna” would give you the treasure if you dug anywhere that fit that criteria, rather than a certain spot that is in that area

yeah that makes more sense than it being on only one specific part without being overkill
comparatively being able to see from afar where the treasure is only by using landmarks is kinda op while solving the same issue, even if it might be easier to add
Treasure Hunting just plain blows. I’m up for doing something like slightly increasing the treasure at a large island’s spots and decreasing those from smaller ones, or just about anything that will at least validate treasure charts.
Possibly just increasing the rewards from rarer treasure charts. A legendary treasure chart gives 7 sealed chests total. You could get that by sinking around 3 ships which takes considerably less time and is also more common anyway.
honestly I’d like this if it was like a chance of appearing
the rarer the chart the lower the chance of the markings appearing
