Can the ram defense stat potentially block all ram damage, or is there a limit?

The main question is in title. I’m also wondering if it behaves differently if your boat is the one doing the ramming (since it also applies to your ship when YOUR ship is doing the ramming).

idk
vertex proab only one who knows as it hasn’t even been added to test universe yet

Talking Realism, smacking the wall with your bare hands vs with a dynamite explosion can obviously show no damage or immense damage respectively.
So, I guess if the attacker / defender has little to no ram damage, yes???

I was wondering about how the stats behave, not the realism. If we were talking realism, then I’d expect only the ram to take recoil damage and not the entire ship (unless it wasn’t built properly).

Ram defense will most likely not block but rather cut damage in some percente

Per the trello, ram damage to the rammed ship only depends on the ram strength and speed of the ramming ship. Ram defense only matters for the rammer, and based on how it says ram damage for the rammer is calculated, it most likely can be 0 if you have enough ram defense

I saw that before I posted this. That doesn’t say how far the damage can be reduced.

Probably not completely nullify dmg, but with high level ships and add ons the dmg to your own ship is prolly gonna be so small it won’t matter.

How far it can be reduced is how high your ship’s ram defense can be. That implies that if your ram defense is equal to whatever half the damage is, you won’t take any damage. But that might only ever happen if you’re moving very slowly, your ram strength is very low, and your ram defense is very high

if theres no limit mentioned then there might not be a limit of reduction
meaning taking 0 dmg is possible

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking.
