they have good potential, not as good as pure mages but better than pure wep/fighting/hp because they use magic consciously
It was retconned? I have a very vague memory of Vetex correcting some kids rambling about how strong Cthulhu was and I think he said that Cthulhu is not that powerful just extremely durable/nigh invincible.
“Fstyle aura” is just passive imbuement.
therefore magic
Does it really? All classes use magic in some way, so why is one method of using magic simply superior to others?
more magic = more power
mages, using only magic, are therefore the most powerful
but PK is savant (i guess PK is different but still)
Some iteration of “Cthulhu” could easily be inserted considering Atlanteans are some abominations that fit
I feel like in a lore perspective (well, seeing thats the topic here), I think i applies to everyone who uses magic overall. The class system we got rn is jusy mostly for gameplay. Realisitcally, it would work a a lot more closer to AA’s system. (That you need to work on the specific skill so you’d get better with it, youre not restricted from anything as long as you trained yourself, nor will forget skills upon Awakening)
In other words, it would probably apply to anyone who can use magic, as long as they work on their magic skills of course.
However, being a Mage wouldnt stop someone from using weapons of fighting skills, but that means you train less with magic than someone who focuses purely on magic, meaning less magic skills, but you do have more versitility. (It could be why NPCs dont really use the class system as a lot of people have noticed lol)
Thats how I think it should work in lore for AO, and classes are there cause people just really wanted the non-magic progressions back in WoM and Vetex finally found the opportunity to implement them upon the revamp. The hybrid classes are those who want more than one option, but realistically, everyone can do that.
Dunno but being able to have a lost and ancient magic at the same time and very powerful spells is honestly superior than having a giant sword imo
Yeah I don’t get your point but I just think those who are masters in fighting style will always be weaker than mages even if they’re the same level in terms of skill or something
If we’re going to include lost/ancient magic then we must be fair and include the existence of legendary/artisan weapons and evolved lost fighting styles
Tbf ancient magics are probably one step higher
lmao no
I doubt legendary weapons are better than an ancient magic
Magic is the only form of power in the au so it only makes sense that ancient magics are way better than legendary weapons
because one of them can throw planetary destruction nuke while the other is at most several island or continent scale
granted, the amount of mages that actually get to that level is very low and most of the time there isnt that much of a different in strength when comparing magic users and non(major) magic users
but since we’re talking about potential here, pure magic users will always win
yeah they are literally just weapons infused with ancient/lost magic
aka, they have a fraction of that magic original power… tho i do remember something about singularity weapons becoming more powerful over time… hm…
having a fraction of an ancient magic doesn’t sound stronger than having the ancient magic
yes they are very different
their body is literally super-charged with magic energy down to every atoms, which is why they managed to become stronger than the guy who nuked the planet twice in like a year or two
well Vetex did say that realistic it would take around 10-20 years, but comparing that to the nearly 1000 years Duzra had live it still show how much of an outliner PK is
