I thought it was like the melee m1 where it makes you move in the direction of your “punch”.
Cannon fist isn’t good enough for me to want to check.

It’s pretty cool though I think we should be allowed to still use the explosive cannonballs since those are pretty epic :smiling_imp: (maybe as balancing the explosive cannonballs require resources unlike the other 3)

There’s a reason cannon fist suggestions are banned from the balance discord, we’re not pushing for anything other than a large rework of the style cause it’s just fundamentally flawed in so many ways. We’ll try to get it reworked for full release but no promises

this IS a large rework (also don’t rate effort and quality off of reasonability man, it makes you look like an asshole. I clearly put effort into this)

this is quite obviously a large rework to the style that fundamentally changes it.

removing cannonball cost alone allows balancers to stop needing to worry about “oh no players have near infinite of these” or “these cannonballs cost so much so they have to be extremely good”
remember gold arrows/bullets? remove that issue again.

it doesn’t fix any combat issues with the style, it’s basic but with higher damage when you use heavy grapeshot, and m1s are only really useful for ganking. I have a rework idea for cannon fist m1s already that I’ll try to refine and hopefully we’ll be able to get it reworked for full release

can you give us an idea of what it is?

This is exclusively an early game issue and is easily solvable by bringing cannonballs back to chests so early game ship farming is possible (so it should happen either way), or by removing cannonball consumption like OP’s suggestion says.

The issue is how the m1s themselves work, they’re an attack exclusive to a specific fighting style which makes it hard to balance especially since it might overlap with future abilities. We just haven’t been able to agree on a rework concept to send to Vetex, but I’ll try to get some more discussion to happen regarding the cfist rework

We need every cannonball to be useful, or we need a limited set of usable cannonballs.
Remember golden bullets and arrows and how those were bullshit? yeah the exact same problem exists here

remove the unique M1 and cannonfist loses its entire identity.
you’ve just told me you have no idea what you’re talking about.

Do you see the reason the balance team is seen as douchebags who barely care about gameplay? youve basically said that your idea of erasing cannonfists whole identity is better than an actual rework that gives it a reason to be used.

And i know youll say something justifying your idea, but its stupid. Just consider the ideas of the community instead of being such a stuck up tardbard.

If we can get rid of ammo for guns then we can get rid of ammo for cannon fist
