Certain types of videos autoplay on page load, even if they are not currently on screen

Certain types of videos (such as those from/on whatever medal is) will auto load and start playing as soon as you visit a page that it is on.

This can spook people who forget about it and is an annoyance even if you do know it’s there, as you have to scroll to it and mute it manually or mute the page.

I don’t believe this is true. The video players usually load muted unless you previously unmuted it.

Was not aware that it would remain permanently muted on subsequent visits after muting it on any visit!
I’ve simply never encountered a type of video that does this.
