If you didn’t know (100% chance), me and @Morden are trying to make a game called Cerulean Flame. Here’s the card for the game’s concept (Note everything is very unfinished but we have a vision, I swear!):
I’ve come to kind of a weird issue, though; for an immersive and realistic experience while not being super laggy, I need a container system. The thing is, I’m kind of split between:
Making it so its just a UI and stores it as values. Would make most containers solid and not opening to reduce lag probably, but would be kind of strange, especially for containers you can look in like trash bins
Making it the above but the item meshes somehow spawn?? idk how that would work
Just make everything with an interior and hitboxes and u can literally just place items in, by far the best system but I don’t know how viable it would be for performance, and might be odd for, like, moving the container they’re in???
I just want to know opinions in general. I want it to work out but my brain is kinda fried rn. By the way, ideas for items, maps, characters, and more are appreciated! It’s largely in the planning phase rn.
Seems like a murder mystery-ish, flicker sorta mix. Do you want to give players voting time or just have them free roam to collect items and attempt to murder the ghost?
The first map could be like an abandoned temple where the Cerulean flame was first discovered.
Also yes, the Tsar Bomba should be a viable item in the game.
There’s no voting time. Essentially, players have some sort of Cell Phone like item that they can use to call in a player called an “extinguisher” on the person who they think is the flame (with amount restrictions obviously). This brings one of the players (who is previously spectating) in, who can interact with any player in order to see if they’re the flame or not (They’ll know who was reported).
seems super interesting, reminds me of vampire hunters 2 a bit
if you guys ever need any help with assets or are super stuck on scripting id be happy to help you, though im probably not the first guy youd come to since i havent ever posted about anything ive made (speaking of which, i probably should)
