What if…
1.All collect item will go into inventory only.(No food or ton of item in backpack anymore)
2.If you want to use any item.Then you can equip it in inv then it will appear to backpack or 1-9 slot.(You can unequip the item to make it go back to inv.)
3.Create the search bar for finding the item

but also like this would just make looking for items quickly a lot more annoying
opening the backpack is faster and generally doesn’t cause the game to freeze, while opening the inventory does
Plus you can scroll through the backpack a lot quicker in general
just make the backpack into different categories like reagents catalysts foods etc.
you can just type that keyword into the bar and it shows all the items in that category
That doesn’t work with catalysts though, i’ve tried
