Current Permissions
The current and planned permissions for every current clan rank are:
- Leader: Full control, only rank that can withdraw from the clan bank
- Co-Leader: Invite/Kick perms
- Admin: Building perms
- Elite: nothing
- Member: Nothing
In this state, the elite rank has no use other than a form of status, and those permitted to invite people to the clan have to be promoted to Co-Leader, which is a rank that should really have more trust put into it.
Proposed New Permissions
All mentioned ranks will of course still have access to whatever power they already had.
- Co-Leader: Bank withdrawal access, promotion of lower ranks up to admin
- Admin: Invite Perms, Kick perms(debatable, but trust is important in the first place)
- Elite: Building Perms
This makes Co-Leader permissions much more fitting of the name. When you make someone a Co-Leader of a group, you trust them with near full control. It shouldn’t be a role you want to give to anyone that you trust with simply invites/kicking. Admins should be that role.
On the topic of admins, there’s literally no reason they SHOULDN’T have at least invite permissions.
This change would also give elites a use.
Insurance measures
If this change is to take place, all members below Leader should be automatically demoted to member, so the leader can reorganize properly.
Additionally, there should be a help UI somewhere that informs the leader (and Co-Leaders with now given power to promote) of what permissions each rank gives a member.
